I've had this machine for 8 months and use it to primarily copy, print and fax. It has a lot of good features such as dual paper trays, double-sided printing and others. The copy, print and scanner work great; however, the touch screen is unsensitive and has to be touched several times to work. You can insert your SD card to print pictures, but I can't print pictures on it because it puts solid green lines an inch apart on the whole picture. The envelope printing function is not user friendly unless there is some hidden feature I'm not aware of. I have an older Epson all-in-one at home and love it, but this one has been disappointing.

Great printer. Awful setup experience.

Lots of features and great reviews for the price so I expect a good printer. Too bad the setup experience is so awful. 3 hours, and still not complete.
First off I had to download an updated driver. This wouldn't be so bad, except that it was only the beginning. Even though this is a common experience, the instructions did not offer any guidance about how to return to setup screens that occur midway during setup if interrupted by the need to download. I had to call tech support and download another package that took 13 minutes and was not mentioned anywhere in the instructions. When it didnt take, I had to do it again. After that there were additional steps that the hard to hear (poor quality headset?) tech support guy walked thru. We achieved USB and wireless printing, Ta da.
But Epson also offers remote printing and printing from phones and tablets using something called Epson Connect. Too bad the website and instructions are incorrect and useless. Got a problem? Click here and return to the exact same instruction that did not work in the first place, Round and round she goes. Guess I'll have to put in even more setup time tomorrow.
If Apple can make things work like butter, can't Epson at least shoot for margarine?

Very Disappointed

Let me start off by letting you know this is the third all-in-one printer I have owned from Epson in the last 10 years, and the worst! Don't get me wrong the quality of the prints is excellent; it is the printer I have problems with. I own a Mac 10.7.5, a PC Windows 7, an iPad (3rd gen.), and two iPhones 4s. I love the fact that all can and do connect to the workforce 845, however, I hate the fact that when printing 4x6 photos (on Epson photo paper) that the printer feeds a blank sheet prior to the printed sheet every time; this is very annoying! To be fair this has just started after I did an update for the printer on my Mac. Which brings up another issue, when will Epson become more Mac friendly? Most of your patrons use your product for graphic design which is best done on a Mac…I don't get it, why are you more compatible with my PC then my Mac? When setting up my PC it now recognizes when I am printing a photo and defaults to tray1, and when I am printing a document and defaults to tray 2. With my mac I have to go into advanced settings every time and select the tray I want for what I am printing or it will automatically print from tray 1 on photo paper…very frustrating! Another point is how touchy the tray load is on this printer. I removed the 4x6 Epson photo paper I was using from tray 1 to print an Epson Premium Matt presentation borderless 8x10 document, and it jammed more than once and ruined at least 5 sheets of this very expensive paper before producing the results I needed. Then when I reloaded my Epson 4x6 photo paper at the correct setting in tray 1 it would not recognize the paper and stated that paper was jammed; which it was not. I finally got the printer to recognize the paper and got the print I wanted. I have had this printer for less than a month and I am not happy and very disappointed. This printer is not worth what I paid for it, and I am not sure if I will continue using Epson or not…too many issues for such a short time.

Never buy Epson

I will never buy an Epson product ever again. The printer/scanner will not scan documents while the ink is empty. I dont care what response there is to this, these functions are 2 different systems.
On top of that I can not load Legal size paper without it jamming. I have to load 1 page at a time to ensure it does not jam.
What a terrible product.
PS: Tried to disable printer monitor 3, no success.

I love my Epson 845 4-in-1 printer, especially faxing and copying from the convenience of my home (and not paying someone else to use their equipment). My favorite feature - and the main reason for selecting this printer over others, besides producing good photos - is automated 2-sided printing (no need to take out the paper, turn it over, print the other side, etc). Nifty! Should have bought one of these years ago.

This is a great printer for the price. It is a must have for the home office. I love that it is an all in one printer and that it is wireless. Thank you for a great printer. God bless.

This is my first printer to go along with my first computer. I did a lot of research before buying and it paid off. I was very pleased with the ease of set up,I was able to get it working both wirelessly and with its email address with out much fuss. The print quilty for both color and documents is very good, scanning and copy functions I am pleased with as well. Over all I could only be happier if it were free!
