Just purchased the Epson workForce 845 but so far setup was easy and simple. Setup for emails to the computer hope this works, that will be cool.

This is by far the best printer for the money. I did need my roommate's help setting up, but I'm not particulaly swift when it comes to the latest technology. In fact, I had to order the special owner's manual "Epson for Dummies."
I would recommend this to a friend!

This printer is the best non laser printer I have ever used home or at the office. The quality is great and it is easly to use. I am using it with wireless connectivity and it is great. I had a paper jam a couple days ago using business card paper and it was easy to remove the rear plate and remove the paper. I highly recommend this printer.

Great customer service, poor Linux support

The first unit delivered was defective. I went straight to Epson, not to the vendor. Epson's customer service--almost instant phone connection to a real person, sensible, streamlined business process, considerate attitude of the several people to whom I spoke--was the best that I've ever experienced. The replacement unit works perfectly.
I use this computer on Linux. Epson compiles proprietary drivers, but otherwise provides no support. It took me considerable time (I'm not a computer professional) to get the hardware to work with CUPS and SANE.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Sad to say I returned my 845 within 30 minutes of purchasing it. I have been a solid epson customer since opening my photography studio in the 90's. I replaced my workforce 500 today because I could not get it to stop banding on my images. Unfortunately the 845 did the same thing right out of the box. I tried several times to resolve it by cleaning the heads with no relief. I am reluctantly switching to another product, as this marks my 5th printer from epson with banding issues.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have had to reinstall the drivers for this printer a number of times. It would work for a while, and then quit working. This was especially true when I tried to connect two printers to the printer wirelessly. The photo quality was good and the print quality was good. It just would not stay connected to the computers to work consistently and I did nothing to change the settings other than trying to connect another computer to the printer.
