Workforce 845 Printer

Setup for this printer was well documented, and easy to accomplish, though I have yet to enable wireless printing on my home network. I'd have liked a little more detail about how to accomplish that, as I'm not a member of any "tech" generation! (It pains me to admit that) The print quality is excellent, even photos are sharp and well-saturated color. I replaced a worn-out Epson RX-500 six cartridge printer, and I can see very little difference with the new inks in the current generation.

So far so good

Well, I jumped from a photo printer to an all in one. Been awhile since I have done the exercise, but in all I am happy. Speed, function and set up have been a good experience. I have run it thru wireless setup, Scan, Fax, email print, etc all have been intuitive. Set up two PCs with no issue. Next will be iPAD and iPhone and scan to PC, and photo quality.
In general I am Happy with the printer. I read people had a hard time with the limited directions. I did not follow them to a tee, but did not have difficulty figuring it out. I would also agree the trays and paper holder are delicate. Regarding cables. Who needs them, plus I have a plenty.

Excellent Setup

Epson sent me a request to do a review about 1 hour after I registered the printer. So, I can't give a detailed account of its use over time...BUT, I can comment on the setup procedure. Setup was quick and easy. Contrary to what some reviews have stated, it was very easy to setup the printer from the touchscreen without connecting to a computer via USB. You should know the router name and any security passwords you might need. I had these handy, so I breezed right through. Setup of the software on the computer was also quick and easy...best printer install I've ever done. The software even checked for updated firmware for the printer, downloaded and installed it without problem. Installation was done on Windows XP & Vista (32-bit)

Great Printer/Great Value

I have just installed the 845. I have a small home office and so far it has been absolutely amazing. The print quality and speed are good and fast.
The install was straight forward and simple, I installed it as a wireless printer through my network. So far I have printed and scanned. The scan to a computer works flawlessly.
The e-print works great; the iPrint (android) works just fine.
It is a little noisy, but what the heck it is a great value.

good printer, bad software

Easy wireless installation, prints quickly and nicely, LOVE the user interface on the printer itself. Also, I like that the printer has its own email for printing documents. The software included with the printer is worthless; I have two different (and relatively new) computers made by dell and gateway, one running windows 7 and the other vista. Both computers have the same problems with the Epson Event Manager, Epson Scan, and the Epson Download Navigator-they don't work! I have reinstalled, restarted, and downloaded from the Epson site, nothing works to fix the software problems. I am unable to use the scan function of the printer.

paper casset

I do not see any options in the software to choose which cassette I want the printer to use. For example I can’t use cassette one for special paper and cassette two for regular paper and then tell the computer which one to use. Or if one cassette runs out I can just switch to the other one. It seems it just picks one cassette and goes to that one. And you can not tell which one it’s going to use. If there is something in the manual that I missed to tell me this information, please let me know. I've just been using it for a short time but other than this problem, it seems to be a good printer.

Sleek printer

So easy to set up and use. Instructions were perfect. Double paper tray holding 500 pages. Love the tray. I had the 610 before and to load the paper was a hassle because there was no tray. Bright touch screen functions are very explainable. Great price for functionality.

Epson WorkForce 845 All-in-One Printer

I've only had this printer a short time, but it delivers all its features as promised and I am very pleased with it. I did very little to get it up and running when I connected it to my home office, as it mostly self-installed. The versatility of both Wi-Fi and wired connections is great, as is the pre-set energy saving sleep mode that kicks in after a period of non-use. Then, when sending a print job, it quickly awakens and gets the job done. The automatic two-sided printing is fantastic, as is the large volume of paper this machine holds. Faxing is speedy and problem-free. The digital display panel is clear and easy to understand. All in all, this is the best all-in-one printer I've had, and it is the first Epson I've ever had. I am very impressed with it and will purchase the Epson brand in the future.
