Best TV ever!

For years we debated over what brand of TV to buy when the old one was finished. Had admired the quality of Sony picture for years and finally purchased this a few months ago. Even though we were concerned abou the smart TV functions, have managed to struggle through the learning curve. Absolutely love this television, football is amazing this season!

Greatest Purchase Ever

There isn't a better TV for the price and quality. Yes it's not 4K but for current standards it's the best and once you have this beast on your wall in your house you couldn't imagine life without it. It has and does everything. As for sound I haven't had to add a thing it's amazing for a wall mounted tv to sound this good. Built in apps also work really well and connectivity is a breeze.

I have had it for just a couple of weeks and so far so good. The only issue so far is the power cable is a little short for a wall mount. The cable is also built into the tv so I is not as easy as just buying another cord. The picture is good and I am still playing around with the features.

We are in love with this TV. IT'S HUGE. Sony markets the new wedge design for improved sound, and it does not disappoint. This is the best sounding TV I have ever heard. The picture is pristine out of the box, but even better after configuring it. The remote is set up for easy use, but I look forward to this TV being added to Logitech's database.
I do have one big gripe, the 3D is not perfect. The images are only lined up in one part of the picture. I have tried to adjust as many of the settings as possible to make this work to no prevail. My theory is that the TV is too close to my seating area. Sony says 4 times the height of the TV...I am beyond that. That being said, the 3D was a novelty. I suggest not buying more glasses until you see how it works with your setup.
I do really love this TV. We have had it for 2 weeks now, and I plan to update this as time goes on.

Not up to previous Sony standards

Severe radial banding necessitated returning not one but two 70w850b's. Sony looked at the pictures I sent them and agreed that there was a problem. I replaced the 70w850b's with Sony's 4k 70x850b. The day after arrival I wrote and called Sony because the 70x850b has similar radial banding issues. It has now been 10 weeks and several phone calls and e-mails later with no response from Sony. Obviously I have been a loyal Sony customer and I appreciate Sony's replacing the earlier TV'S but I am disappointed in what appears to be a decline in Sony quality. I asked Sony several times the type (IPS, VA) and manufacture of this panel (Sony no longer manufactures their own panels) but have had no response. Sony promotes their TV's as premium. I'm not so sure any more..
