Great Picture - Out of the box

Great Picture right out of the box, had to do very few adjustments. Sony has more technologies on later models but this TV looks great and I cant think I would gain much based on the picture quality on this TV. Its excellent for SD as well as HD. I have been using it for the past 2 weeks. The sound is good and is better than the regular TVs. Sony sells a sub woofer which may improve the sound, but I use my receiver and speakers so have not tested much.
I have used some of the apps and they work fine. 3D works but I am not able to get 3d content from my other systems like the Apple TV, it could be my settings.
the menu is more straight forward than the previous Sony TV I had with cross bar. This is an improvement as it is easy to access the apps.
Overall I am happy for the price paid and the product quality.

Big Picture

I love the 70in 2D picture, blacks are decent, and color is accurate. Sony what's up with the 3D crosstalk on this model? I called support they had me tweak 3D settings but the crosstalk remains. Will this be a firmware update fix, or is it inherent to this model? I would have given it 5 stars if the 3D was watchable.

Nice Tv BUT

Great picture with adjustments the apps work great also. I have had this TV for about 3 weeks now. I have noticed that on live sports events or light scenes there is a dark band right in the center of the screen. It is in the background and is very hard to see but you can notice it. I am going to contact Sony but I have read online this model has those issues.

Poor product support...

This wasn't a bad TV until I did a recommended software update. Online documentation recommends setting it back to factory defaults if the update fails. Which we tried & it didn't help. We also downloaded the latest firmware from SONY's site. Only to find out it wouldn't install because it was older than what we already have installed! The overseas tech support had us retry everything we just did & then scheduled a tech to come out (supposedly). Instead, we get a call the next day asking if we did a factory reset (again)....Here we are day three, & guess what? I received an e-mail this morning pointing me to the site about factory resetting the TV!! We still haven't been contacted to schedule a tech. Buyer beware! Product support is horrible, slow & redundant. We've only had it for about two months.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have this T.V. and warn you that the blinking light thing happens often, look up failure with T-Con board, I would not purchase another SONY product

what with this tv

had this tv for a month, then started flashing red blinks 8 at a time, unplug everything then it work for four days and started all over again

My 70" Sony is perfectly seating in the man cave and wife loves it too. I wish Sony do provide with the TV a Digital audio to RCA converter though.
