Big Picture, Small Sound

Sony took great care on the delivery and packaging of this HDTV. My set was in perfect condition when delivered.
Picture Quality. I upgraded from a 7 year old Sony Bravia HDTV. The best improvement in the new set is much more shadow detail. I'm now seeing details in people's clothes that I never knew were there. Especially dark colored clothes. I sit 10 feet from the set, so this is definitely an immersive experience. Cable video quality is very good. When I first turned the set on, it looked like I was sitting in the studio across from the news anchor that I was watching! The Live Color setting really makes the picture pop. The Advanced Contrast Enhancer brings out details in the picture, in darker scenes, which would otherwise be lost. I watch a lot of old Black & White movies where grain in the film is always a problem. I found that the Reality Creation, Manual setting, allows me to reduce the grain while not having to soften the overall focus of the picture as much as on my old Sony TV. On my Color movies the Black Corrector maintains the contrast of black objects so they don't become too gray and washed out. The Clear White setting adds a touch more detail to white colored objects. For some reason, I'm finding color movies made before 2000 have a softer focus. I guess that's what Blu Ray DVD's are for. I have seen several Blu Ray short sample movies on a demo DVD that I have. The focus on those Blu Rays is razor sharp!
Sound Quality. This is one area that Sony doesn't help us with. Although they do include a 7 level graphic equalizer. Problem is they set it to neutral at the factory. I had to work with the equalizer, 4 separate times over 1 week, before I was able to get any kind of decent sound out of this set. For DVD's I use a 5.1 receiver with high quality speakers, but for regular TV programs I prefer to use the TV's own speakers.
The more I watch this HDTV, the more I like it.

Great picture quality. 3d looks wonderful. Only downside is wall mounting options. Is not vesa compatible so if you want an articulating mount you have to purchase a adapter

Beautifully crisp picture (partly due to a 50" screen vs 65" for example, but beautiful nonetheless), great color, and the speakers have some kick to them, much to my surprise. It has tons of built-in internet apps as well (more than simply YouTube and Netflix). Note that this TV is more or less a computer so software updates will come along from time to time. Excellent assembly quality and the thin bezels are nicely finished. I wish it had an internal power supply but it's not enough of a bother for my rating to be any less than 5/5.

Good TV

I purchased this tv because I needed a larger screen for the room. The picture quality is good. I had to purchase a sound bar because the volume on just the tv was not sufficient. I do not consider myself a tv-aholic so I chose this one based on price & the picture. This tv does not have the weird quality where it looks like objects are photoshopped into the video - I picked this tv based on that. It has a 3d option as well as other options that I have not used.

Perfect Picture

After having this TV in my living room for three months I still can not believe how thin it is. It looks absolutely amazing, the bezel is razor thin and the screen has a glossy matte finish. Color reproduction is increadibly accurate, and I have not noticed any blur what so ever. This TV also produces perfectly pitch black blacks with no blooming at all, and because of the screen finish there is relatively no background reflections. Every feature works seemlessly (i.e smart tv functions), however, I have not used the 3D settings or glasses yet. The only downside to this TV is its speakers, as they are rear facing and provide very little bass.
