Bought because NEWER BLURAYS stopped working

I have two other Sony Blu Ray DVD Players that play my DVD's and older Blu Ray's without issue. BUT recently the CODECS have changed just enough I HAD TO BUY A NEW PLAYER to watch the new movies coming out. I was hached off about spending $85.00 to get a NEW PLAYER while the OLD ONE is still working with 98% of the rest of my movie collection.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Surprisingly simple operation

I hooked this DVD player up to my flat panel Sony TV using an HDMI cable. I inserted a DVD in the player and without any other action required from me, the TV power switched itself on automatically and the input on the TV switched itself to HDMI. The movie started playing and I was all set to enjoy it. This is the kind of simplicity that my 80 year old parents would really appreciate.

Plays everything well so far. I like the on line updating of firm and software. easy to use. Hi capacity hdmi cables needed for blue ray and 3d clarity. Best match for our new sony tv.

I own a lot of Sony products. It is the first place I go for audio and video products. I use this player on Netflix almost daily and it works great!
I view lot of Blu-ray Disc a month. I find this player the best buy for the money.

Terrible experiemce with this product

Audio is fine - accomplished desire for Pandora through Onkyo system. Video is the problem - routine flashing to black so can't use for Netflix. Tried customer support - did as they advised - bought new wires, turned wires the other direction. No resolution. No more help offered when my chat request was made
My tough luck I guess. Requested replacement not honored.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi RogerST,

Please follow the troubleshooting steps below.

1. Reset the unit to Factory Default Settings.

SETUP > Resetting > Reset to factory default setting > All Settings

2. Refresh Internet Content

Setup > Resetting > Initialize Personal Information.

3. Go to VIDEO > Internet video and try Netflix again.
