works great

Our DVD from the stone ages finally died and we needed to upgrade so we did a lot of research and chose this one. Set up was simple, including setting up Amazon prime movies and Netflix. We have used it a half dozen times and could not be more pleased with the ease of use and the picture etc.
I have a Roku and Panasonic BluRay Player on one system and decided to purchase the Sony product as we needed an upgrade to a BluRay on our other system. After reviewing all my options we decided to purchase the Sony product as it satisfied two needs, BluRay Player and streaming capability for Netflix. Now we can stream on both systems at the same time and avoided purchasing another Roku Unit. Excellent product and a good price.

Hi clayclare, we're glad to hear that you're pleased with your purchase. Thanks for choosing Sony! Enjoy. Regards,
The box seems to lock up periodically. It says that it is connected to my home network, yet we can not access anything. However, I can access Netflix or Hulu through my iPad. Sony is absolutely no help either.
This is happening once to several times a week. It has usually taken around 12-24 hours before it will allow us to acces the features again.
This was my first box and I'm not impressed.

Device is ok.

Overall this device is OK. If I had the opportunity though I would return it for something else. When it works (which is only about 75% of the time) it does a good job, but it drops my WiFi network often and the device freezes at least 3-5 times a week. When that occurs I have to get up and unplug the device for a period of time in order for it to be usable again. When it does freeze, there are times where I have to re-enter all of my network data to get the WiFi to work again.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. For connectivity issues we kindly recommend you:
The Internet connection speed can vary for many reasons. Below are the most common causes:
Network Sharing Wireless Connection Strength Router Type Connection to Your ISP
NOTE: A connection speed of 2.5 Mbps or higher is recommended for streaming standard definition (SD) Internet video, and a connection speed of 10 Mbps or higher is recommended for streaming high definition (HD) Internet video.

Very Nice overall

Nice picture quality and features. Wish it was a bit faster for the streaming interface. The Roku 3 is much smoother overall for streaming but that is all that it does and it costs almost the same. Overall a nice choice.

Total downgrade

I got this "upgrade" for a broken 5100. Imagine my suprise when both the on unit lcd display and the rear usb port was removed in this upgraded version. The unit is small, but removing key features is inexcusable.

Decent purchase

Decent for the price, does well. However... if it is set up for using wireless (which I did) it took control of the Sony TV as far as the volume and channel selection, no matter what I tried it would not release control until I disabled the wireless. Strange???
