Verified Purchase:Yes
Wether I use the remote or press the power button, sometimes it comes on most of the times it does not.
Internet browser I still can't figure out how to "enter" to go to the page/web address that I inputed in the previous screen.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great player only a few problems with device. Had to figure out how to make an IP address. Now it freezes every now and then while watching Netflix. Had to unplug the device to get it to unfreeze.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great picture and options - -won't shut off

I really like this player.. most of the time. Sometimes it won't shutdown when you turn it off. I have to unplug it and plug it back in.. an annoying little problem that hasn't been addressed. Otherwise Blu-rays play great and it plays a flac and SACD.

Looks Like 4K

Unbelievable! Booting and loading speeds are unbelievably fast. Iswear that my oldest DVD appears to be 2K. The definition and clarity is fantastic.
I feel that I now have truly affordable 4k, relative to what my picture quality used to be.

The best blu ray player I have ever bought. Clear picture and the 3D is unbelievable. I love the mirror feature.... it works great with my Samsung galaxy note 2. Also the sound quality is amazing.

Best blu Ray player so far

I own some blu ray players (Vizio, PS3, and PS4) and none of them make movies look so good on a Bravia TV, the 4K up scaling is something you will notice even not having a 4K TV.

Excellent upgrade!

Needed a new blu-ray player for the new media room - was debating between an LG and a Sony - was hesitant on the Sony because of the price difference, but finally went with the Sony - didn't have a great experience with the last Sony entry-level Blu-ray player I had - stopped playing blu-ray discs after 3 months and had to get Sony send a warranty replacement - and they simply replaced my brand new blu-ray with a refurb, so I was kind of bummed about that, but bought another Sony - this one is definitely an upgrade - the sales guy did a great job talking up the dual core CPU - I don't care about the 4k upscaling because I don't have a 4k capable projector, but the dual core CPU does help - menus and applications fly - loading of discs is smooth and quick, startup time is excellent.
I wish Sony would improve their UI a bit - it works but having to run scroll through all the video apps to get to the one you want is a pain. Still the quality is excellent and the player is holding its own after a month. Still have the old Sony player upstairs but compared to that one, this device is super fast! Lets hope it doesn't break like the old one did.
