Great DVD Player

This Blu-ray player is small and powerful. I bought it for a friend who decided to get rid of cable. This friend's TV isn't that great so a message kept coming up saying that the TV couldn't display what was being put out bu the DVD player. I was able to lower the output of the DVD so that the TV would be able to work the the Blu-ray. The wireless feature works well and the friend is very happy. I bought it for a great price and it was worth it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Best Blu-ray player around

This Sony Blu-ray player is the best I've had. It doesn't lock up or become unresponsive like other Blu-ray players I've had. HUGE amount of video streaming apps. In fact, I was considering buying a Roku, but this Sony Blu-ray player has enough video apps to not need a Roku. The quality is fantastic and I've never had a problem playing DVD's or Blu-ray discs. I would recommend this to anyone looking to own a high quality Blu-ray player.
I purchased one of these in March of 2014--first Blue Ray I've owned. I have been very pleased with its performance and the variety of streaming serviced that come built in. I saw one for a ridiculously low price at Wal Mart at Christmas time and decided to purchase a second one for the bedroom. Easy to install and easy to navigate through. Only complaint is that the keyboard that comes up for doing a search could be a little more user-friendly. I like that we can go through and select movies and shows we want to watch and save them for the future.

Almost worth it

I have had two of these in the past 11 months and both have failed. Both times the player would flick on and off at the screen and would continue to do so until you unplugged it. I would reset itself then work for an unknown amount of time. I bought it because Sony is the top of the line right? Looking to see if Toshiba makes one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This player is amazing for the money. It's compact, plays all of my older cd's and even upgrades my DVD's. Operation is simple. I have told all of my friends about this model. Streaming video is top notch. I am very, very satisfied with my purchase. Hello, it's a Sony.

Does not work with our WiFi

I have no idea if it is something with our WiFi or the Blue-ray DVD player, but it will not install. Everything on the TV says it has installed properly, but it simply does not work. I am returning it to the store as a result. Our current DVD player is not a Blue-ray but is a Sony and we have been very pleased with it.
