Having upgraded to a newer and larger TV for my bedroom I also upgraded to a new disk player. I got everything hooked up,plugged in Spartacus Gods of the Arena and was very happy until the 2nd disk. I must have pushed the wrong button because I was asked about internet connection. I now cannot get out of that. I changed back to the old player and still have the same problem. I have no idea what I did and need to call tech support for the TV and player...however, until I messed up the player performed beautifully. The lesson here: watch what buttons you push and when all else fails, read the directions (which I did not do this time and read what happened).
I'm impressed at the software that comes bundled with the system. The most popular, best options for streaming video are all there, so it was a simple matter of syncing my streaming service accounts with this player and I was watching my library in minutes. The remote is also very compact and intuitive. This player is simplicity in its purest form. BDs play with a beautiful picture quality and fps. Very satisfied.

The Sony Blu-ray disk player is the newest addition to my home entertainment system. It works flawlessly and comes with more apps that I could ever imagine. The wireless works effortlessly too!

This product is slow to hook-up to the internet. Acorn tv will not play on the Sony product. This product does not hold a candle to the ROKU streamer!

streams amazon prime which I like

It streams amazon prime, netflix , etc which is good. But it is slow with connecting and ease of operation is not fluid.

We have been using this for some time now and all systems are a go. We have played blue-ray, regular CDs and have streamed video from Amazon and Netflix with no problem.

Problem with new blu ray player

I really couldn't tell you how this player plays because it doesn't even tell you when you look at the package, that you need to buy a HD cable and that you need to insert it into a modem. My modem for my home is in my home office and I can't remove it from there so I couldn't use it. I also couldn't find any instructions to hook this up. Is this so complicated that you have to have a computer person come into your house to install it? This unit is not people friendly and it is not worth the trouble.
