Very satisfied

Was a bit concerned that the unit would be difficult to set up and use. Need not have been concerned as set up and use was simple. I followed the instructions and the set up process took no more than 20 minutes. There is so many features that I am still exploring. Very nice unit at a resonable price. No complaints.
I would recommend this to a friend!

good player?, bad documentation

This player appears to be pretty nice, but it took me forever to set it up and I still don't have it all done. That wouldn't be so surprising if I wasn't an electronics designer. The documentation stinks. I spent hours trying to set up the networking. It kept saying everything was connected and fine, but it would not work. Finally I set up the networking manually, and disabled IPV6. Then everything worked. So apparently IPV6 doesn't work or at least not easily. The remote has controls that supposedly control TV on/off and input, but they don't work and there is nothing to tell you how to set it up. Very poor documentation and it took WAY too long to get going. Too bad, it could have been a good experience.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Disappointment in Product

I purchased item in hopes to upgrade my old unit, I installed items and it worked properly and played my first Bluray DVD it worked great. I later tried to play another DVD and it would not play. I tried several DVDs and Blu ray Discs the machine did not recognize any discs. Then the remote would not work; I changed batteries several times and it still did not work. I was disappointed and returned the unit. I bought a Panasonic Unit and it works great. I always had problems when purchasing Sony Products.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Sleek package

Of course easy to install, compact and sleek looking, but what really sold it for me was the fact that as a Blueray player, if offered a wide variety of apps and features; and eliminated the need for me to purchase a media player to receive the apps I use.

A Great Player

I bought this player to replace my outdated blu-ray player. When I was looking for a player, I was lookingh for one with rca audio jacks so I can hook up my sound system, unfortunately because of the rising advancement in technology, the analog audio RCA's are out dated; however, I was able to connect my sound system to my TV and the sound sounds better than with my older player. This player is really great and I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a playher.

Useless, designed as an after-thought...

This product has design flaws...Low processing capabilities make it a nightmare trying to access streamed content without freezing everytime. The quick power up mode is useless, it freezes on power up or shut down, I ultimately have to pull the cord. The menu system is tedious as well, designed for Playstation not a Bluray player. The remote control is another nightmare, no logic in button arrangement. Hit the netflix button, and everything shuts down just to jump to netflix. (Anyone thought i might not want a Netflix account?) Fast-forwarding, pause and play functions in Bluray Disc Playing mode also lacks the control/manueuvering a user would expect. (Unless you're the kind of person who presses play and sees through the whole movie at once.) Alas, its a quick mashup of bluray playing with internet streaming to supply the growing demand of such products, with no care whatsoever to perform both functions with standard (much less outstanding) quality. Sony has many top of the line products which i would choose any day over any other brand......this is not one of those. I am returning mine, after a month of daily use.

So easy to use , plug it in and good !
love the Sony app , along with so many other great app to use , to many to list !
wifi , sling and the usb make it so simple for anything else you could want to us with it .
no need to buy all the other stuff like Raku or Google .
