This is an excellent Blu-Ray player. It gets amazing reception for Netflix and Amazon movies and beautifully plays our Blu-Ray movies as well as our regular DVD's - and loads very quickly. Another nice feature is the subtitle option - which automatically comes up in English without the trouble of going through the other languages. We cannot believe we waited so long to replace our old one - which was slow and most of the time wouldn't play our regular DVD's. We would give it 10 stars if we could.

Very good Blu-Ray player

So far I had no issues with this unit. It plays Blu-ray, DVD, CD disks beautifully. Easy to use remote. Needs a bit of time for the Wi-Fi to make a connection after first turning it on, to reach Netflix for example, but after about 30-40 seconds it will connect, and after that no problem.
Easy menus to navigate, and takes up very little room on the shelf. Good unit.

Extremely User Friendly

The disc player was extremely user friendly and I was able to connect and start using device within half hour of getting it home. For a non-technology person that is saying a lot. Ease of operation is very simple. No complexity for the amateur!!

If you want captions, don't buy this!

Can't access captions from TV shows recorded to DVDs. Would never have purchased if known of this flaw.

Hi SadGirl, We're sorry for what happened here. Kindly check if the Closed Caption is turn on: Press HOME Button on your remote > Go to Settings > Go to System Settings > Select Closed Captions Settings. In addition, kindly check the recorded DVD's if the Closed Caption is already embedded or included. Thanks,

GREAT PRODUCT!!

Our old BR player (also a SONY but one of the early ones...and much more expensive!!) took "forever" to power-up. Then, almost as much time to load a BR disc before it would start playing it. This new one was much less $$$$ and is much faster!! I highly recommend it!!

Easy Set-up

When I set it up and watched a disk I did not notice the interference. But as I played it later it showed up on any disk I played. I was using a 10 ft HDMI cable that worked fine on my lap top player. I changed this out to a shorter better quality cable and the interference went away. I am happy with the purchase and for the money it is very good player. The web access works great.
