So far working great but...

I have been using my SGS2 from AT&T for a week now.
The overall performance exceeded my expectations.
However, I started noticing that the charging time takes much longer than what one would expect from a smart phone. Moreover, the stuff that I didn't expect to see was the fact that the battery still drains even if you are charging, especially when you heavily use video streaming, say Skype video on the HSDPA+ network. I know it's a tough situation for a smart phone to handle both video streaming and HSDPA+ activity at the same time. But it shouldn't happen. If it can be improved by the future firmware updates, that would be great! Other than that, the device is working flawlessly.
Pros: Bright display, computational power
Cons: battery life / charging time
I would recommend this to a friend!

the phone is amazing, has a lot of features. literally all of the new technology that's available in market at present. the performance is unbelievable. the battery is good and has a longer time in low charge than most other phones. the HD experience with the amoled screen is simply superb. overall worth every bit of money spent on it.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, performance
Cons: little big on the hands
I would recommend this to a friend!

Setting A New Standard

Up to now, I've always gone with BlackBerry devices, but based on how good my Samsung Tab 10.1 is, I decided to go with the Samsung Galaxy SII this time around.
Wow, am I ever glad I did. This is an outstanding phone with every feature you could want, running on a rock-solid OS with a best-in-class display, and the speed of this thing just blows everything else away!
I am hard pressed now to decide which Samsung product I love more, my Tab 10.1 or my Galaxy SII, as they both set a new standard, and a very high one at that.
If I had to nit-pick, my only wish is that it was running on a 4G-LTE carrier like my Tab is. Instead, with AT&T it's just 4G and let me tell you, there is a MASSIVE difference in speed between 4G and 4G-LTE, but that's a carrier issue and not the device's fault.
Other than that, this device is perfect and I would not change a thing!
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight, speed, features
I would recommend this to a friend!

VERY GOOD, BUT...

Most if my impressions of the G II are excellent. I especially like glass on the touch screen that doesn't show finger prints nearly as much as other phones. The phone is thin and feels good.
But the cons are:
On/Off button is opposite the vol control making it rather awkward to use the on/off button w/out pressing the volume. The ph operation requires quick pressing the on/off many times a day. Often I will inadvertently set the volume to near 0 making it almost silent when the ph rings. This is a terrible design and I noticed it the 1st time I saw the ph. Still may return the S II because of this. Trying to get used to it, but w/out good results yet. The volume button is in the right place, but the on/off should have been located on the top of the ph.
QWERTY Keyboard buttons are way to small for my fingers. I can not type of it at all even in landscape mode! The 3X4 Samsung kybd is the only one I can use at all, and being of the multi-tap "ph kybd" pad style it is slow to use. Maybe I can find a 3rd party kybd app that will work for me, but so far no success.
No way to delete bookmarks w/ out using a 3rd party app. In Froyo you could, it may be a glitch in Gingerbread rather than in the S II.
No way to add notification tones. The ones included I don't care for much.
I don't mind the ph shipping w/ so many un-wanted apps pre loaded. But what bothers me is lot's of unwanted / un-used apps are running whenever I use the ph. (+20). They can be stopped, but there are so many it takes more than 5 minutes to manually do it & requires constant checking of the "running apps"..
Instruction manual lacks a bit. For example you can tap menu to check your open windows. The manual says to tap the upper right corner of the window to close it. What it doesn't tell you is you have to have 3-5 open windows for this to work! Very frustrating after trying to close my un-wanted windows for 3 days!.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: as mentioned above
I would recommend this to a friend!

Speed, apps, and the ginger bread makes it all worth while. I had a LG thrill but traded it during the first month for this one and I was sure glad I did. Samsung is the best android.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight, ginger bread app
Cons: has more plastic
