Slim, perfectly sized, lag-free, fast page load, and a gorgeous AMOLED screen make this phone near perfect. Kudos to Samsung for fixing the capacitive back-light issue and taking on their Achilles heel -- web page load speed -- turning it into a big positive. Kudos to AT&T for having the intelligence and restraint in keeping as close to the international version -- name and all -- as possible. The only improvement desired is a textured or rubberized perimeter for better grip. Samsung made a bold statement, after the Froyo debacle with the original Galaxy S, by delivering sample phones to Cyanogen Mod developers and others prior to release. Samsung wants to replace Apple as the premier technology OEM and the Galaxy SII is the standard bearer of that offensive -- a battle in which customers reap the rewards.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight, lag-free, fast web page load time, current version of android
Cons: slippery grip

Super slim, super fast! The phone is the best android phone I've used to date. Performs well right out of the box. Phone calls are very clear and loud. A true winner. I would recomment this phone to anyone.
I purchased a Motorola Droid when it first came out years back. I had it a total of 10 days, and returned it. The hardware was clunky, Android was sluggish, and buggy. It set the stage for what would become a really bad experience with Android. I went to iOS and the iPhone 3Gs. I had previously owned iOS devices (iPod Touch) so it was familiar territory.
I chugged along with the iPhone 3Gs & then the iPhone 4. Great products, but I found myself feeling more & more restricted as time went on. That's when I entered the world of jailbreaking. Finally, I thought I was free to customize my device like I wanted. This went on for a while until I grew tired of playing the cat-n-mouse game of trying to keep up with which iOS version was jail broken, which wasn't, and frankly I didn't want to think about it anymore. The thought of going un-jailbroken & resorting to a vanilla version of iOS made me sad.
Enter the Samsung Galaxy S2 with Android 2.3.4 from AT&T. I decided to give Android another try. I felt like it had had time to mature a little, and read many reports of how Samsung had sold MILLIONS of Galaxy S's & SGS2's in countries outside the US. This type of record HAD to mean something. Another indication was that Apple has been suing Samsung left & right. That means Samsung is doing something right. The fact that Apple and others get their devices' components from Samsung also helped in my decision to go with Samsung over other handset manufacturers. Many of the major components for the device are sourced in-house.
So far, I have NOT been disappointed. The SGS2 has provided a wonderful experience. Android simply works on this device. There is no sluggishness at all. The 4.3" SAMOLED display is beautiful. How could I go back to a screen any smaller? I worried about the larger screen, but the thinness of the device somehow makes up for the fact that the screen is bigger. It's pocketable, which is how I choose to carry my phone. All in all, I'm very happy with my purchase. Battery life is acceptable. I wish it was better, but that will always be the case. I have two email accounts, several social networking services, and some other things running and the battery makes it through a day. It gets pretty low at bed time, but that's worked out fine for me. Charge it in the car if you can. That'll give you an extra bit of time. One final note about durability. Many say it feels flimsy. I do not get this feeling. Of course it's not built like a tank, but it's durable enough. Search google for "Iphone 4 Samsung Galaxy S 2 drop test" and see for yourself how durable it is.
If you're on the fence about getting an SGS2, I can tell you from my experience I'm completely satisfied so far. Love it!
PS - The Camera is AWESOME! Combine with Pixlr-o-matic & Camera ZOOM FX from the Android Market to get the best looking photos.
Never slows down. Instant GPS locking. Awesome battery life. Great camera. Tethers via USB and WiFi. SAMOLED Plus display with out PenTile Matrix looks 10x better than the original Galaxy S. I have both and there's a difference.
Look, this is a dream phone, I've yet to find a mishap on this thing.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight, fast, sleek case square edges, amazing camera
Cons: doesn't cook for you :(
I would recommend this to a friend!

Best SmartPhone I've Ever Had

I have to say, I have been waiting for a phone like this for a long time. The Galaxy S II has everything I've ever wanted - wireless connectivity, 1080p video, media sharing, you name it. I love the fact that it has both an 8mp camera and a 2mp front-facing camera as well. The pre-packaged apps are great too. KiesAir is a lot of fun, because you can view every single thing about your phone - call logs, text messages, in addition to all your pictures, video, and music. VPN access for those who want to ensure a secure connection to your network is an awesome bonus. The SuperAMOLED Plus screen is stunning, and the super-fast dual core processor means smooth video playback. And of course, the fact that it's an Android phone means all the apps you can want.
Just got the phone yesterday but have been a Samsung phone user for over 2 years from the Galaxy S Captivate to the Infuse and now the Samsung Galaxy SII and it is by far the best product to date ! Its super fast, smooth and very responsive. I would recommend to anyone that is wanting a great phone, especially someone who likes to multi-task!
I bought an IPHONE a couple of years back and thought that I was in heaven untill I got this phone. OMG I will buy Samsung droid phones until they stop making them. I love this phone. The best part is, apple cant tell me what to do anymore. :) Love open source...
Pros: to many to list
I would recommend this to a friend!

If you're tired of using a smart phone, like the iPhone, that restricts you to the capabilities and functions approved by the company that makes it then the Galaxy S II is the phone for you. Not only is it feature rich and much more usable than the iPhone 4, it already has all the features of the iPhone 4S and is expandable beyond the scope of anything that Apple currently provides. Features like hands-free voice activation, output of 1080p video directly to HDMI ports on your HD enabled TV, Flash Player, expandable memory, a replaceable battery and a screen that is almost a full inch larger are deal breakers! Move over iPhone, the Galaxy S II is everything you want to be and more.
