As a former Blackberry user, I was hoping for a phone that could do everything my BB could and more. Unfortunately, this is not the phone to do that. Unlike the Blackberry, it automatically deletes emails from the server when you delete them from the phone. Likewise, it deletes emails from the phone when they are deleted from the server. Also, unlike the Blackberry, it cannot sync Outlook Notes and Tasks, so the Memo and Tasks icons are just that--icons. I can type directly onto the phone, but it won't update in Outlook and vice versa. Speed is great and games work well. The keyboard is a bit difficult, but that's probably just a learning curve. The voice recognition software works very well for composing emails. While I enjoy using the phone, it has some serious flaws for a business user like myself.
After in-depth research comparing smartphones starting in early October, I narrowed the choice down to the Galaxy SII or the iphone 4S. I decided to treat myself to the Samsung as a Christmas gift! The larger screen along with its beautiful, crystal clear viewing was the deciding factor. 5 big stars to Samsung. After the first of the year, I am buying a 32" Samsung LED HDTV for the bedroom. No doubt about it. Samsung cant be beat!
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color
This is my second android phone and it is by far better! The screen is bright and clear and the phone operates with absolutely no lag. The ease of use is just great. Everyone should have one of these!
I've only had the phone for a little over a week and so far it has been great! It is a little more to learn and setup than the iPhone, but I think I will like the customization the Galaxy SII has to offer. The only drawback so far has been battery life. I like to listen to Pandora and play some games, and it really drains the battery! More so than my old iPhone. But it has been a good change overall and I'm happy with it and the much larger screen and features.
I bought mine as an upgrade for my Motorola Backflip. The HUGE screen makes watching videos a blast. Picture quality is phenomenal! The video camera is extraordinary, and shoots in 1080P--very nice feature indeed! The front facing camera is great, too. The sound quality from the speaker is better than any other phone. Built-in storage is ample, and installing a microSD card keeps this on par with the iPhone. Speaking of iPhones--this Galaxy S II blows it away. There are plenty of Android apps available FOR FREE to provide the Galaxy S II with the same cool apps that come with the iPhone. Want SIRI? Android has an equivalent that's even better and more accurate--it's called Speaktoit. The only thing I had to get used to was the virtual keyboard, as I was used to the QWERTY on my Backflip.
It almost has that wow factor the first time you used your iPhone. It even feels allot like it in your hand (the original iPhone). The Galaxy S2 is a spectacular product.. disappointingly, with a battery that in full phone use barely gets three hours. With an improved battery this is hands down the best smartphone out there.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight, fast fast fast, feature laden, exceptional call quality
Cons: battery life is dismal, speaker sound should be better, expensive
