Over heating?

My wife has had our 7 quart Crock Pot for quite awhile now. She and her Mom have had others but she feels this is the best one she's ever owned. It's always worked really well in the past. She asked me the other night to turn it down to warm overnight. (She was cooking meatballs and sauce which she's cooked in this pot several times.) When I went to turn it down I noticed the control knob was extremely hot and visibly melted in places. I had to move it to another spot on the counter top and found the counter underneath it was scalding hot too. The counter was to hot to touch. I moved it onto a baking sheet and left it for awhile before I turned it off. She says she doesn't remember it ever getting that hot in the past. I'm wondering if it's common over time for it to get that hot although with the knob on it actually melting I'd assume not. Looking for some guidance before we buy a new one. Thank you

Ceramic cracked

I purchased model SCV803-SS less than a year ago and used it less than 20 times before the ceramic cracked while cooking. On a positive note, I loved the size of the pot.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

So sad the quality is horrible

I bought this 6 months ago and the stoneware is already cracking. So sad that I wasn't able to get a full year's use out of this....I wonder if it's under warranty....

Unsafe product! Reported to CPSC.

The outside of this product has zero insulation, thus the outside will be almost as hot as the contents. In addition, the decision to save 2 cents by having 3 feet instead of 4 has made the product very unstable. This means it's extremely likely to tip and spill hot liquid everywhere. Who makes such an unsafe product decision, and even further, who approves that? I will never purchase another product by this brand, nor by any of the other brands owned by this company. What was once a great brand has been driven into the ground.

Great crock-pot.....mostly

I bought this crock pot a couple years ago and love it. However, I noticed a crack a few months ago and every time I use it the crack gets bigger! I used it last night and noticed that it now leaks through. I’m super bummed because it really is a great crock-pot and the size is perfect for a full family meal. I’m just wondering if the heat initially caused the crack or what because I’m super gentle with it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I moved to a new place, I found a 7 qt Crock Pot in the metal shed out behind the house. Someone had apparently abandoned it years ago and it was dirty. I cleaned it up and used it the other day, no problems with it at all.

Crockpot lid does not fit correctly. I have read from previous reviews that the manufacturer has said it is designed that way. I have to disagree. I have 3 other crockpots that the lids fit very well and have no gaps at all. One of them even has a rubber seal on the lid. How do I get a proper fitting lid?
I would recommend this to a friend!
