Best Room-sized Fan on the Market!

I own three model 733 circulators that are four or five years old. I own a century-old farmhouse without air conditioning, and moving air in the summer is necessary for living comfort. The multi-position base and multiple fan speeds allow for total versatility and maximum comfort. The sound from the blades and air on the highest speed does make hearing the TV a bit difficult. I am a sound sleeper, so the sound does not bother me in the bedroom. My only complaint is that with years of use, the little rubber feet on the fan base have fallen off. This was repaired by purchasing the little rubber self stick bumpers from the local hardware store. This model costs more than other fans, but the quality of this fan means that I won't be sending it to the landfill in two years. This circulator does what it is made to do, with dependability - and it is made in the USA! 1,000% satisfaction!

The Vornado certainly moves a large quantity of air, its limitations to have only 2 design positions, limits its effectiveness, and on high is rather noisy, and rattles, so we have a weighted cloth over the top.

Impossible to get apart to clean

works really well until you have to clean it. Impossible to "push" those stupid clips and get the grill off to clean. This is an expensive, disposable fan.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I actually have the 833 which is the same but a 5 speed design. These are without a doubt the best fans I have owned. They move a lot of air and on the lower settings they are very quiet. It's surprising how much it helps to have air moving around you on a hot night with no AC. I've had no problems at all and I haven't ever found an air circulator that moves as much air for the price. We have a more expensive air circulator at work that is a commercial and this does a better job IMO.

As a child we had Vornados . Sleeping with out the white noise of this air mover is unthinkable to me. I have had only one Vornado that gave me any trouble in past 15 years and It was fixed and returned to me in less than a week ! WHAT SERVICE ! It was not 733.. I would not own a cheep box fan that I could not clean or had to replace every two years. You always have support or new Vornado for yourself or someone in need of a breeze. Just phone them it is done!
