You get what you pay for--like 15 years of steady use out of this gem

I only realized that this old beast is 15 years (!!!) old while writing to Vornado to see if it could be resuscitated after it began struggling, and then squealing, when I turned it on. I got much more than my money's worth for it! The 733 let me cool the huge airy place I lived in back then with three little window units, and whirred away pretty much every day, and 24/7 during the hot SLC summers.
Does it really throw air 100 feet on low? Well, you won't feel a blast of air, because a vortex weakens with distance. Instead, point it at a far corner of the ceiling as instructed and wait. Vornado circulators aren't designed to cool you with a breeze; they circulate air beautifully to mix fresher, cooler air throughout the space, so you don't need a breeze in order to feel comfortable.
Anyway, I have central air in my current little apartment but still need air circulation to mix the cool air to cut usage and filtered air for my asthma, and the fairly new 660 in storage is fine fine on low in the smaller living room. I also run a 6 year old 723 on low in the bedroom at night, and expect to get many more years out of it.
Pro tip: in general, running a large fan on low is much quieter and more efficient than a less powerful fan on high.

I've been buying vornado fans for years. I love the warranty and it's a fan that really works. It really pushes air and they last for years. I sleep with a 733 vornado when I sleep because I was in a car accident and I'm in a lot of pain which makes me run hot. So this fan keeps me cool hours on end every night and day. It pretty much runs 24 /7 and it's the only fan that will take that kind of beating and keep running for years. So ill only buy vornado fans when I need one. I run two of them round the clock because I also own a old house without ac. So it keeps us cool during the summer when it's hot outside and our house warm in the winter by pushes air around the house to heat it up with our kerosene heater or wood stove when its -7 degrees outside. So I would only recommend vorndao fans because they are the best on the market!

I fell in love with the Vornado fans in the early 2000's and have been purchasing various models since then. I have tinnitus and these fans not only cool my room and circulate air excellent. they provide a necessary background noise to help me get to sleep.

Great fan for the money!

If you live in an old home with no AC and old windows, this is the fan for you! We've had a lot of fans over the years but none of them come close to working as well as this fan does. We open our screen door in the early evening and point it towards the screen door and help push out any hot air in the house. Then when the sun sets we put it in front of a window to face into the house and bring in cool air and man does it work! Some morning get a little too chilly if you put it on one of the higher settings. I am buying a couple more of these, they're awesome!
