I use this towel all the time in hot yoga. I usually put the towel aside until I'm really sweaty (after about 15-20 mins), then put the towel on my mat; otherwise, if I put the towel on the mat any sooner, it gets "slippery."

I really love these towels, I bought 4 of them along with the grey 5mm yoga mat. After using the two toned purple towel, the color stained my mat. I have been consistently cleaning my mat a bit deeper to get the color out of it. They are nice, just be careful if you really love your mat, the "orchid" two toned one will stain.
