New wireless features! But missing right outof box

I purchased this printer to replace an older canon printer. With new technology around and new devices to print from (iPad, smatphone) I started looking for a new printer, to replace my 3 year old Canon, that allowed me to print from these devices as well. Being a new release I had to wait a couple weeks to get this printer 5320 instead of the 5220at a local store. I liked that this one advertised AirPrint technology and a cloud based printing, so I was sold by this.
I have been using this printer for a couple of days and must said that it is a really nice looking printer, wireless setup was easy and printing quality is great as always with Canon. It does fast printing and double sided printing is very convenient.
So getting to the point of the actual feature that draw me to this printer, cloud printing and AirPrint, I must say I am a little disappointed. First of all, the printer requires a firmware update to enable these features, the problem is that it has to be done through the computer and connected through a USB cable that is not even included...
My second issue with this printer is preparation speed. For some reason it has been times when it could take up to 2 minutes to complete the initial "preparation" to actually start printing, which is very inconvenient and annoying specially when you are in a hurry.
I would really appreciate if Canon could release a firmware update to speed up the time it takes to prepare for printing. One would expect immediate printing every time need it. Also, I think that a USB cable must be included with the printer, all printers came with one no long ago! How am I supposed to keep firmware updated?
In conclusion, if you are considering this printer, it is a great option, very good build and printing quality plus new features allow easier wireless printing.
Pros: quality, features, wireless printing, mobile app for ios and android, two side printing
Cons: no usb cable included, requires firmware update for airprint, expensive cartridges, casual slow initial preparation

I love canon printers

I have always purchased Canon printers. They are just absolutely the best. I purchased the mg5320 because I wanted to be able to print from my iPad. Works great! I also love canons photo printing. The pics are photo lab quality or better. This is why I love canon printers. I have always been satisfied with every one I own. The setup on the mg5320 was so easy, wifi and all. you just put in the disk and follow the onscreen instructions and in no time your printer is wifi ready. Also like the dual side printing. Hope this helps.
Pros: reliable, Compact Design, Easy Setup, durable, Low Ink Consumption, Lightweight/Portable, Sharp Tones & Colors, fast print speed, easy to use
Cons: none

Disappointed with Canon

Worked great when it was working.
But after a little over a year the printer head went out. Now I have to trash it, due the printer head is so costly.
Do not buy this product. I have seen many others owners with the same problem on the internet. We try to find a solution, and follow all the instructions to fix the print head and it's a waste of time. I am very disappointed in this product.

It has so many features that I'm pretty sure I'll never use all of them. This brings me to my major complaint. THERE IS NO PRINTED USER'S MANUAL WITH THIS SOPHISTICATED, COMPLEX PIECE OF OFFICE EQUIPMENT!!!!! I've tried printing the On-Line Manual, but to no avail. I frequently "get lost" trying to use the On-Line Manual. I just wish it weren't so complicated. I've managed to get it going for simple printing and photo printing, but it is just hit or miss, with many "misses". Oh, if I only had a PRINTED User's Manual!!!! I remember back in the "old days", new purchasers of equipment were admonished to read through the User's Manual before attempting to use the machine, and I dutifully did just that! What happened????

good enough but doesn't print duplex on my mac
on April 15, 2012

I like the feature set, and I like the paper cassette and scanning (slow, but good for the price and the space savings vs having a separate scanner).
BUT: it will not print double-sided (AKA duplex or two-sided). It's supposed to. This website says it does, but it does not.
Pros: multi-function saves space, plenty of real buttons on top
Cons: doesn't print duplex on mac as advertised

Not a well designed product.

Bought it six or seven months ago. It started giving B200 error and then U052 error even though it has everything original. Now I can't do anything at all, not even scan.

Okay quality, amazingly low ink usage

Every time I try to print (not that often, really) this machine has to go through several minutes of start up and I swear it's clean, and wasting, a lot of ink. I do not get very many prints before it demands I insert new ink. I have never had a printer start up so slow before or insist on the long, ink-draining process before actually printing. I have long used Canon printers, and I love all the functions, but the actual printing isn't great and the price I'm paying in ink for rarely printing is amazing.
Pros: Compact Design, Easy Setup, easy to use
Cons: High Ink Consumption
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
