Excellent printer

I purchased this printer because it supports the Airprint feature. LIke the other reviewer, I had to update the firmware to get it working. This update, and the update of the drivers was expected though, so no big deal. In all, this printer set up extremely easily and without question or problem on my Mac network. I print from all of my desktop and laptop Macs and from my iPhone and iPad. The printing is fast and quiet, and I do not notice a long delay for starting the printing ... possibly because my other printer is a noisy and slow-starting laser printer. The print quality is outstanding on plain paper. It is virtually indistinguishable from prints on the laser machine. I expect to get many years of service from this machine. This machine was a very good buy.
Pros: near-silent operation, extremely fast for inkjet, fast and superb color copies, very fast high-quality scans
Cons: inks can run

Printers performance was excellent

Three printers were specifically purchased for an event in which photos would be taken of 270 young people, with digital cameras tethered to laptops and laptops connected via USB to the Pixma MG5320. Each printer was calibrated to a specific digital camera and to the printer. All three printers, after printing up to 100 4x6 prints each, running continuously for 1 1/2 hours performed perfectly. What was astonishing to us was the fact that only one of the printers need just one of the ink tanks replaced. All this with the ink tanks that came with the printers. We did not have to use any additional ink tanks that had been purchased as back up. The photos were sharp with accurate color and contrast. We found that it took 15 seconds to print out each 4x6 color print on Canon paper.

Based on cost - the value of this printer cannot be exceeded. Absolutely the best everyday photo printer I have seen - unless you trade up to a professional printer.
I was absolutely astonished at the quality of print.
Pros: photos nearly look professional
Cons: photo paper too expensive

I want to be able to print pics with vibrant colors. My camera produces these colors. The printed pics were outstandingly beautiful. Fast print speed too! I have never had a multifunction , all in one printer work this great! Buy one while you can...WiFi setup was a breeze, as was Apple Air Print. I LOVE THIS PRINTER (and I am tough to please) LOL. It is also very modern looking, just amazing. Canon support is also top notch.
Pros: reliable, Easy Setup, durable, Sharp Tones & Colors, fast print speed, easy to use

We have this printer on our home network. It works great! We mostly use it for printing receipts and just general use. I printed one 8 by 10 photo on glossy paper so far. You would be hard pressed to tell it from a regular photo. The detail is amazing. We are quite happy with our Pixma 5320!
Pros: Easy Setup, durable, Sharp Tones & Colors, fast print speed, easy to use

Broke Down
on November 27, 2013

I was SOOOO pleased at first. It did photos in B plus or better quality - not bad for a home printer. It did printable CD's very nicely. And it broke down after a few months. This seems to be a common problem. The ink carriage just WON'T MOVE, and no amount of turning off power supply, etc., turning upside down, gentle shaking, looking for scraps of paper inside (there aren't any) can undo the jammed mechanism. Apparently this happens often with this printer. Often. And it is too costly to repair. Canon used to be at the very top of the heap for quality control. Now, they are just another mediocre brand among many -- and it pays to read reviews of SPECIFIC MODELS before you buy anything like this.
Cons: High Ink Consumption, unreliable, Flimsy Construction
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Prints Blank Pages
on January 3, 2015

I've had this printer for about a year and a half. Worked wonderfully (great photo quality) up until a few weeks ago. It only prints blank pages now. I have replaced all of the ink cartridges and tried everything customer support recommended. Still getting blank pages. Very disappointing as it was a great printer and it's not worth spending money at a repair shop for it.
