Epson Stylus NX430

Got the printer a week ago and tried to get it up and running, but with all the numerous obscure codes it requires during the installation procedure I was unable to get it programmed. It'd ask for one obscure code after another. The last one was asking for something it called a SSDI (I think). Had no idea what to tell it. Very frustrating. I just shut it down and it still sets taking up room.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This printer is one of the best I have purchased and may even consider it for my office when I need to replace one there. It is so easy to set up and print wirelessly. Would highly recommend this for both home and office use. I now have two of these, one at each of my homes.

Nice but wont to post cards..

So far we've been happy with our Small-in-one, but had a bit of frustration with trying to print on Staples 4 to a page post cards. Manage to get a few to feed, but then no more. Deeper exploration of Epson's product pages, and a call to their helpdesk confirmed that it doesn't handle card stock..
Oh well - at least the Staples print center is close by so they used the card stock on their machine and did what needed to be done.
Inks are expensive of course since that is how they all make their money.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Epson Stylus NX430 does not allow full use of ink

Printer does not allow you to use all of the ink in cartridges. When ink cartridges are low, the programming in the printer stops all functions. Other printers I have owned allow you to keep printing until the printouts are not acceptable to the user.

Not as Good as Prior Versions

As a rule, I adore Epson printers and all-in-ones. The quality is incomparable, the ink is permanent & brilliant. When I go the NX430 home, I just "plug-n-play"-ed it like I did for all the others, starting with the C80, all the way through the CX 4600, 4800 & 5000. But this time someone had to get fancy and change the rules. The NX430 needs to have the program installed 1st, THEN the printer can be plugged in to the computer. It's counter-intuitive and opposite to the installation of all the other printers I've ever bought from Epson. For a half a year, I've had no printer. The only reason I have it now is because my computer crashed and I got another. So finally I can register and rate my computer, after 6 long months!!! I was able to make copies from the scanner, and can say it lives up to the Epson name, quality-wise.
