First Time User/Installation of Epson Printer

Having read very good things about the Epson printer and seen high ratingss, I chose the Epson small- in-one now that I needed a printer.
This survey would be more meaningful if-
* Product ratings-I gave it the worst score because I haven't had a chance to use it yet.
* The cartridges were much more difficult to install than my prior 2-4 printers.
* Though I purchased this small printer for cost savings, I don't like a back load for the paper. It is difficult for me to access.
* When the test print runs, the printer just has a slow rackity sound. None of my various printers beforehand sound a "cheap" as this.
I'm hopeful that once I start using this, I'll get used to all the little bugs and be glad I chose the Epson

Wireless Scan Does Not Work
on November 30, 2011

Bought this iPrint capable printer to print wirelessly from my iPhone and iPad. The printer does work as advertised for this purpose. However, you can ONLY scan through a USB cable which is not provided by Epson and would be counter productive anyways as I don't feel like running a 25 foot USB cable across the threshold of the room where people could trip over it. Isn't this the reason why people buy WIRELESS printers; so you don't have to run and trip over wires? I deducted 2 stars because of the laziness of the software engineers to fix this known issue. All other functions of the printer that I have tried, (I have only had this printer for 1 day) work to my satisfaction. BTW: I did update the software and firmware to the current release(s) as of 11-30-11.

Being the "poster child" on how to screw up on the computer, the setup for this model was perfect and trouble free. The installation instructions even prevented me from messing up.

Poor Instructions

For those who are not computer saavy, instruction about installing the disk should be shown prominently so there is no problem with installation. I thought the disk was for Wi-Fi!

Epson NX430

This is the worst electronic item I ever bought. Spent hours trying to get it to print and even though it's got new ink it displays an error message that ink is low then prompts me to buy more ink at ridiculous prices. Another error message says it's got a paper jam but it has never had any paper in it. Very disappointed and will never buy an Epson printer again. 0 points! Andy, Boston, MA
