I love this printer!

I don't know how I ever lived without a wireless network printer. The Epson NX-430 was a breeze to set up - I just followed the step by step instructions. I can print from my iPhone, iPad or laptop at the click of a button. Seamless operation. Print quality is perfectly fine for an everyday printer. The small size is great too - I have it in my kitchen. Great product.

Easy hook up

I asked my daughter to hook it up the day I got it. She was to busy that day so I waited until the next day. Didn't happen. So I figured if I do screw it up installing it (the printer) will tell me. So I started w/step one , two, three etc took me all of 30 min and most of that was waiting for the computer to configure. I DID IT !!! Easy peasy !!!I LOVE IT.

EPSON Stylus NX430

The Print Head on my Epson Stylus CX3810 all-in-one was needing to be replaced after 6 years of use because even after multiple tries of Cleaning the Head along with Nozzle Checks over and over the print quality usually was poor, although some times I would turn it on a few days after the last time I used it and it would print perfectly several pages before some of the Black ink Nozzles wouldn't let ink print on a page and the bottom (or another area) of the font was missing.
Sometimes the Magenta or Cyan didn't print at all.
The NX430 price tag was lower than the cost of having a new Print Head put on the CX3810 so I got the new Small-In-One unit.
I have used it for 2 months and it does print faster than the CX3810 does.
I had been printing 4X6 photos on the CX3810 with a Custom 6X4 setting.
I figured printing on the photo paper using 6X4 instead of the default 4X6 would reduce 'wear and tear' on the unit and take less time to print each picture.
I tried adding my Custom 6X4 setting to the NX430 and it failed.
I got a printout that had portions of the image cropped out, and what was left of the image was magnified to fit the page.
So I removed my Custom setting and accepted the Default 4X6 setting, which I think works the unit more because of its Print Head just printing four inch sections, and also the platen has to move two more inches of paper to do the print job which means it takes more time for a photo to get finished printing.
I've read later that the NX430 is restricted to 5 inches Width for a Custom setting.
I hope Epson can offer a software/firmware update to allow greater than the 5 inch Width in a users Custom setting.

Another thing I noticed that I don't like is each time I turn the NX430 on, my Anti-Virus software tells me "Removeable Media Drive Detected" and asks if I want to Scan it.
I always let it do a Scan, which always finds Zero Files and Zero Problems.
A few weeks ago I was in Windows Explorer (the file manager not the internet browser) and saw a Hard Drive with a Drive Letter that I had not ever used.
I Right Clicked on the Drive and looked at Properties and the drive was empty, Zero Bytes was the total size.
I thought the new (to me) Drive Letter and my Anti-Virus software always wanting to Scan a "Removeable Media Drive" might be associated with each other and sure enough, they were.
I have the USB cable unplugged from the CX3810 because all 4 ink cartridges have ink in them and I may want to use it to print Black only until the Black ink is used up.
Because the CX3810 hasn't been Deleted from XP Printers and Faxes, I sometimes found out that what I thought was being sent to the NX430 was going to the CX3810 because I didn't notice what printer was in the tiny selection area of the Print window.
Yesterday I noticed after I changed the selected printer from CX3810 to NX430 that a Button shows up to make my change the DEFAULT.
HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really like this printer/copier/scanner. It is a great small size and the ink is reasonably priced. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the top loading of the paper. My last printer loaded and came out of the front so I got used to it. Everythng else is great.

I think my epson stylis printe is one of the best printers I have owned. I do a lot of photography work and the colors and easy of use are amazing.
