Easy Installation

I am really impressed with the ease of installation! Set up went smoothly and test print pages are crisp and clear.. Not noisy when printing either! This is my third Epson printer and I am a very loyal fan of the brand. They have all performed extremely well.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Wanted a printer primarily to print good resolution text. Occational photos and scanning.
Set-up was straight forward and accurate. Never used a wireless printer. My Epson
NX430 works great.

set up for two computers

I have the new printer set up for my IMac now I need to find out how to be able to use it with my Mac Book Pro laptop.
If I am able to get that info I think it will be great.
I have owned at least 6 epson printers before this last one and have had nothing but good luck with then all.

The printing capabilities are definitely adequate, but the scanning leads a lot to be desired. I was able to install the print drivers without a problem on two Windows machines, and both printed and scanned - but when scanning, the window closes as soon as a scan is finished, so if you want to scan more than one document, you have to re-open the software. I expected having to change out the document, but not to restart the program every time.
TECHNICAL SECTION - Simply put, I wasn't pleased with this printer.
On a Debian Linux distribution (Squeeze, current stable), the printer wouldn't install without a workaround, because packages required to build it are no longer in the source tree for that distribution. When I finally got the printer installed, I couldn't install iscan without forcing it or using archive, either. Even with the archived libraries, though, I still got network IO errors when trying to scan. The built in XSane actually would scan even without iscan installed, but only once before it gave me a segfault - so no preview, and you again have to close and re-open the program for every page. All in all, it's probably an OK printer, but the lack of real Linux effort turned me off to it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
