We've been using the West Bend 12-cup percolator for about one month after our automatic drip machine died. Love, love the HOT coffee this perc brews for us every morning! Be aware... this really does make lots of loud, gurgly noises and puffs as mentioned in other reviews. Never experienced this with our old-timey percolator. Yet, it doesn't seem to affect the performance of brewing a great cup of coffee. The knob on top feels like plastic; not glass (reason for only 4-stars). Therefore, we're being careful not to bang around the lid. It once did leak several streams of coffee during the last part of the perc-cycle, but we determined that my husband may have over-filled the basket with grinds. It has not happened again. The pot itself is stainless steel. We unplug the perc when finished with morning coffee, and then simply rinse the kettle out with warm water. No residue or build up so far. I believe that if you leave the coffee perc plugged in all day you will have any liquid evaporate and eventually scorch the bottom of the pot where the rod sits. Just unplug it. Only time will tell about the craftsmanship and quality of this percolator. We hope to have it for years since we're delighted with the taste, heat, and quality of our coffee!

Great Coffee -- needs new knob and seal on lid

I have been using this percolator for several years, and it makes great coffee. The only problem is, the plastic knob on the lid is leaking, and I need a new knob and seal. How do I go about ordering a replacement?

The twelve cup percolator is fast and does a great job. My only complaint is the plastic knob on the lid, it’s the only reason why I had to get a new one.

Perfect taste and easy to brew

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m a daily coffee drinker and this is my first time brewing coffee in a percolator. I was afraid the coffee would be too strong but boy was I wrong. The coffee was delicious and I’m a believer. The flavor is perfect ands the taste is bolder. It’s easy to brew and doesn’t take long. I like that the pot is sleek and looks good in my kitchen. For anyone that has never tried brewing their coffee in a percolator I recommend getting this one!
