For the first few months, the machine worked great. Now, in less than 6 months I am looking at tripple digit repairs when I have done a minimal amount of sewing. I haven't even needed to put a new needle on it yet. I wish I would have read the reviews. This is the last singer I will ever purchase. Now, if only I could get my money back on this one.

I purchased this machine about 6 months ago. I had a 15+ yr old Singer that while still works was not giving me enough options for quilting that I just started. I did not want to spend a ton of money but did want something that would offer more than 4 stitch options like my old machine. This definately has room for my skill level to grow. I have had bobbin issues with it since I got it, I was told by the woman at the store that if you wind the bobbin and go to fast it heats up the plastic bobbin and causes it to warp making it impossible to get it off the post without breaking. So now I wind slowly and it seems to have resolved it-not ideal but I can live with it. The auto needle threader is sort of a joke as well, it takes longer to figure out how to get it to work than it does if you thread it the old fashioned way. Today for no reason the foot pedal is not working. There is nothing wrong with the cord that I can see and it has been working fine up until now. Of course I am trying to finish a quilt for a Christmas present so it chose now to break. I have also discoved that per the Singer website there is no authorized dealer in VA which does not make me happy. Overall I have been pretty happy with it but clearly the quality of the newer machines does not come close to that of the older machines.

From my mother's 1940's machine, to my first graduation present in the 70's, I have always counted on my Singer. Three years ago I had to replace my machine and did not choose wisely. I have just replaced it with the Singer Confidence Quilter and I could not be more pleased! It is very easy to use and has ample table room - the extension table is a convenient feature when sewing large projects. The guides are well placed - I like the 1/4" mark. The bobbin's see through plate is handy and it is very simple to thread. I like the needle threader, too - it makes threading the needle a snap. There are so many sewing patterns to chose from! I don't know how I sewed without the needle stop position selector - what a great feature. This was definitely a wise purchase. Thank you Singer!

I started quilting about a year ago. I have one of the Futura machines from years ago, but it wasn't great for quilting. This was truely the answer. A 30th Anniversary gift, and couldn't have been more happy!! Now just need an embroidery machine to go with it.

I have had Singer sewing machines since 1969 and I find this to be no disappointment to what I had expected. It is quiet and does a nice even stitch in straight through all choices. I currently have this machine, a 7426 and my CE200 Quantum Futura embroidery machine and use all three on a regular basis. I have no complaints with any of them.

We bought this machine in September and right away it was the best Singer we have ever owned. First of all, it runs quietly and very smoothly. It is very easy to thread. We love just putting in a number and getting a decorative stitch no problem. We currently have three machines which we use almost daily since we are in the quilting business. At this point, we are considering buying another Confidence Quilter, it is a wonderful sewing machine--great price, great value.
