Disappointed

Basic sewing was great. However, I could not make the automatic buttonhole maker work. Instructions were not included in the video. The written instructions did not help. Since lessons were offered, I thought I would wait to use the feature after lessons. The manual feature worked fine. Next project was quilting. The machine would not go into the correct adjustments nor would it go back to basic sewing. I took it back to the store & the salesperson could not figure it out. My brand new sewing machine is being repaired & it was in use less than a month.

Love the machine when it works. Easy to use. Makes beautiful stitches. Except when it doesn't. I've had it in the shop more than I've had it at home. Problems with bobbin winder. Problems with tension. Now problems with the computer sensors. The guy at the repair shopped let out a knowing sigh when I told him what make/model it was. Apparently he sees a lot of them. At least it's under warranty. This is the last time I fix it. I'm getting rid of it and won't be purchasing another Singer. If customer service was better and more helpful I might reconsider. As it is, it's just not worth it.

Bought for my grandfather as he was using a Singer model from the 1980s. I have no experience sewing but was able to set it up with him using the helpful instructional DVD. He is happy with it and has no complaints. Shipping was much faster than anticipated as well. Thank you.

This machine was to replace a unit we gave to our daughter some time ago. We basically purchased it to make face masks, for this trying time we all find ourselves in. Be well and stay safe everyone!!

Hemming jeans, making stuffed animals & quilts. I learned to sew years ago, but I never had my own machine. I finally decided to get the Singer Confidence! I'm very excited to start sewing again on my own, new, machine!

Do not waste your money. It jams and Singer won't refund you

The bobbin pop up and the machine constantly jams. You will spend more time rethreading the needle than sewing. And even worse, Singer won't refund you or replace the machine.

Frustrated Quilter

First let me say that I have been through three of these machines hence the low rating. I do a lot of quilting and my other sewing machine just didn't have the power to go through multiple layers of fabric so my husband bought me this one for my birthday. Singer's 7469Q Confidence Quilter looked good and would allow me to free motion quilt plus it came with extra presser feet specific to quilting. The first machine I got, I used for a few weeks and the top thread started breaking, then it started making a clunking noise. Singer's customer service said to send it back, which we did. The second machine came but when using the ¼ inch piecing foot it wouldn't go through multiple layers of fabric, the needle just went up and down and I'd end up with a big ball of thread underneath. It will go through two layers of fabric fine but no more than that. I found that if I used one of the regular feet and marked the ¼ inch seam allowance that it worked ok so it appeared that the ¼ inch piecing presser foot was the problem. I called Singer customer service a second time and was told that I needed to start sewing half way into my fabric - that doesn't work when piecing quilt blocks. They were less than helpful. This machine was also set to be sent back but the third one that came was labeled "Factory Serviced" and looked like it had been dropped on its head. You couldn't even thread it since the opening was smashed shut. This one was also sent back. Another problem I'm having is with the tension, I have to keep adjusting it even when using the same kind of thread...IT IS VERY FRUSTRATING! Also the instruction manual is missing important information on the different presser feet which would be very helpful. For machine quilting with the walking foot and free motion quilting with the darning foot it does great but for piecing quilt blocks it really stinks!
