First time too own such an awesome machine ,having to fight and pull the fabric through the machine was not worth making a quilt but with this machine it was such a blessing. I am ready tomake quilts so enjoyable. The walking foot just for this made it much easier to work with. I have made 6 twin quilts. NOW, the wheel has popped off a few times , I had put it back together so far its good .and the foot pedal , sometimes iit stops and ihave to pump the foot to get it moving again

Stitch length problem

I like this machine but the stitch length is impossible to control. It seems to depend upon how fast I'm sewing and or how many layers there are.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

"Quilters" machine

How does a sewing machine, specifically made for quilting, not come with an option to lower the feed dogs, or include a cover plate? A darning foot is included, but you can't actually use it until you get a cover plate. Frustrated.

The Singer Confidence model 7469Q sewing and Quilting machine has the Drop Feed feature. The instructions for using the Drop Feed feature are in the downloadable instruction manual, on page 12. There is also a video showing how to use the drop Feed feature on our website at the web address below (click on "Manuals, Quick Guides and Videos" and scroll down to the fifth video). The video is titled "SINGER® CONFIDENCE QUILTER™ 7469Q Sewing Machine Drop Feed".
