I found the manuel to be very helpful in getting to know my machine. My one compalint is I have a packet of 3 quilting feet no information as to how and what they do. I bought the machine because I thought it would be helpful to doing quilts.

From a child i made most of my own clothes. My mother taught me on a Singer. As life got busy I stopped. Then I experienced cancer and many health problems which necessitated going on permanent disability and not being able to do even many everyday things like cooking or cleaning. I discovered a ministry making quilts for cancer patients and was excited over the possibility of participating. My husband purchased the Confidence Quilter and I found I could still sew!! There are so few things I can still do. The machine is very responsive and easy to control. It is fairly easy to use all the options included. I can sew whenever I can, 5 min. or 2 hours, anytime at my own pace and at home. This machine has made it possible to go back to a hobby I love when I have lost the ability to do so much. Thank you for coming back, improving and making Singer a more reliable machine. I am also making outfits and doll clothes for my grandchildren. Love this machine.

This is a good machine. I have not had problems with it that stop my sewing progress. There are a couple of things that are obnoxious though. The thread guide that goes up and down in the left of the machine is constantly bumping the top of the machine. That door doesn't open, it just gets out of line when I touch it and then it bumps. There is also the thread tension. I am regularly pulling out stitches because it will be going along fine and then just start looping erratically on the back of my quilts. I think it was a good starter machine for me. I am getting much better at the free motion quilting that I bought it for now and it is limited in a few ways. I would like an auto thread cutter, the knee lift for the foot, a steadier stitch length while doing free motion.

I researched sewing machines for some time. I was interested in a machine that would handle Quilting. This sewing machine is all that and more. It has neat features. I love my sewing machine.

I'm 69 and just began quilting. This machine does everything I need to do and having the special quilting feet (walking foot, quarter inch foot, free moving foot) help to make the machine very affordable. Enjoying learning about all the capabilities.

This works great if sewing straight lines. Trouble with bobbin winding, does not wind properly and causes problems when using. Tried using a zigzag stitch (03) and kept jumping into a different stitch, then another. Can't use for a quilt, which why this machine was purchased. Will have to see if company will exchange.

I purchased this machine to use in quilting. It is a great choice for intermediate sewing & quilting. It also has many decorative stitches. I love it. The stitches look great & it is very easy to use. Great choice for beginners & experienced sewers & quilters. several optional feet & stitches for quilting. Sometimes the instructions can be confusing on some Singer Machines, but this one is easy to understand.
