I love my Curvy 8763! Got it last Christmas from my wife and daughters and use it on an almost daily basis. I'm very creative and need to keep busy. I'm on disability and sewing is great therapy for my hands and mind. I'm a chef and I make my own Chefs jackets and got good enough to sell a few of them. This machine is easy and fun to use, especially the auto needle threader. I know I'm getting a SINGER serger this Christmas and I'm saving up for a SINGER embroidery machine.

One Design Flaw

The bobbin winder on this machine relies upon an amount of manual pressure before it stops automatically. The result is the bobbin winder does not stop when it should, causing it to over whine the bobbin, and looses continuity of the winded bobbin when finished. Other than this design flaw, this is a good machine.

The machine is wonderful and works well. I enjoy the stitch features, self-threading and buttonholing. However, the footer feed plate is difficult to put back in. I finally had to take it back to the store, they couldn't get it in, they waited for the repairman. Turns out the little hook on the bottom was bent. It works fine now, but makes me anxious that it will occur again.

The tutorial DVD is helpful and demonstrates just how easy the machine is to use. I have moderate sewing skills and Curvy meets my needs beautifully but also is easy for my granddaughter, who is just a beginner. Overall, I've been having such a great time with my Curvy...I love it!!!!

This machine was a Christmas gift and the first few times I used it it was perfect. However, ever since then I have had the same issues everyone else has reviewed about, stopping during sewing, skipping stitches or loose stitches, I have also experience uneven bobbin winding even after watching the videos it still winds uneven and the thread keeps breaking while sewing. I am so upset that this machine is not of the quality my grandmothers Singer was......wish I could exchange it ..... :(

Cate, sorry to hear that you are having issues. There's several possible causes for the problem you have mentioned. If you will email TalktoUs@Singerco.com Customer Service can provide some suggestion for resolving some of the issues you have mentioned. One suggestion is that you can adjust the bobbin tensioner when winding a bobbin so it will wind more evenly. We'd love to help.

I am so disappointed in this machine. I am now on my second machine of the same model (returned/exchanged). Now the second machine is doing the same thing as the first one.....sews a straight stitch for about an inch then starts beeping. I will be at the store first thing in the AM. I HAVE EVEN TAKEN CLASSES TO BECOME FAMILIAR WITH IT. DON'T BUY IT.

This little trooper saved my project. My other machine has an issue so we ran out to pick up a simple basic machine. It has everything I need, threading is super easy, it's so quiet, I haven't use the button hole tool yet. But I am super happy with my new lil curvy:) Oh and it doesn't hurt that it has purple accents :D

The features are impressive. The durability is disappointing. I had it for three years now and it's broken for the second time. The needle hits the casing and breaks. The first fix cost half the price of the machine , a cam, I think, was out of whack. Now its doing the same thing again. Also the foot pedal is off and on working which is really exasperating. I used only for clothes, denim was the heaviest material. VERY disappointed.
