Terrific Cook Top

We love this cook top. It heats very quickly and is solidly built. The two best features that I like is the huge center burner and the ease of cleaning. If you have a boil over, it is very easy to clean after it cools down. The controls are in a place where you don't feel the heat when you want to adjust the controls.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Plenty of space and clean looking!

My wife and I have been using this product for about a month now, and overall we are pleased with the purchase. As many have stated in other reviews, the grates hold any pots/pans a bit high over the flame, so you have to adjust how high you turn up the burner to make sure you aren't throwing the heat out past the base of said pot/pan!
The surfaces are easy to clean and the product was very easy to install.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I just installed this cooktop and it works and looks wonderful! the middle burner is great for large pasta pots.
The griddle feature is great for cooking breakfast.
Overall I am very pleased with my purchase

Easy to Clean

So far, this cooktop really shines. Cooks wonderfully, and it's super easy to clean. The first time we had some baked on gunk, I thought I would be scrubbing for days, but it just wiped right off.

Great cook top

I have had this top for about a year. It cooks as well as it looks, beautifully. It is extremely easy to keep clean and to clean. There are only three grates which eliminates cleaning 5 individual ones.

I love appliances, so when the time comes to choose a new one, I agonize, study, fret, lose sleep, debate, and change my mind every day.. Shopping for a new cooktop took me about a month of research and hours of shopping. I did have some budgetary boundaries; price wise, this cooktop was the least expensive on my short list. I read the negative reviews claiming the "grates were too high", which caused a slight pause...but geez GE has been around for a very long time and found it hard to believe this historic company would offer up a product with such a basic design flaw. I was drawn to this particular cooktops because of the heft and feel of the grates. They are the darkest of black cast iron, heavy HEAVY, and have a slip proof finish for stirring. The fact that it came with an equally HEAVY griddle was truly the factor that sold me. It had everything I wanted at a great price. NO, I do not work for GE; this is a real review from a real customer. Finally, to the point...I love this cooktop. I timed a large pot of water on the center burner...8 minutes to a rolling, beautiful boil. Those "grates too high" stories are just false. The flames are stong and can be easily fine tuned. I have ordered a red badge for the cooktop from GE because now the Cafe Series comes with a gray one and I prefer the red! They will send you one, just FYI. The cooktop is beautiful, well priced, and flawless. It's perfect!

I bought this last month to replace my old GE Profile cooktop. Not happy with it as it takes twice the time to cook as compared with my old GE Profile. I am returning this and getting another brand.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
