After one year start with problems. Gas valves locked, expensive spare parts, knobs made of cheap plastics.

Hello,
We're deeply sorry to hear you've had these issues with your range. This is not the consumer experience we want for you, and we regret the inconvenience you've had. We know this is very frustrating and we want to help. We have reached out to you via email to gather some additional information. Please keep an eye out for that and respond as soon as you are able.
Thank you for your patience in waiting to hear from us. We look forward to chatting with you soon. Kind regards.
We purchased this GE Cafe Cooktop 5-burner previous model (CGP9530SLSS) and it was installed on 04/11/2019. I'm including this review for the current model to warn others about the bad quality, which I hope they improved . . .
I already complained long ago to your company about the knobs peeling off and was sent *some* replacements. However, the new ones have peeled off already. Now, the plastic small light cover for the lock knob has come off. It should not happen that in 2.5 years a cooktop has these many issues . . . it looks horrible.
At the same time of the above purchase, we bought a large refrigerator and a Profile microwave oven, which already has a piece of plastic broken off (and we are VERY CAREFUL in how we treat our appliances).
Although I also bought this month another GE applicance (an upright freezer) because of the very good reviews, I am so disappointed with the GE appliances!!!! The quality is awful. I do not believe I will buy other GE appliances in the future.

Hello there, we appreciate you reaching out to us. We couldn't be more sorry to hear about the issues with your range knobs/control panel and your refrigerator part. We can only imagine how aggravating this would be for you after putting your trust in us and we're happy to help. We see you have a case with us, so we've made sure to add your comments there as well and request a case manager reach out to you. All the best.
This cooktop replaced a 5 burner cooktop with a glass surface. The stainless steel looks nice but is harder to clean than a glass surface. Scrubbing leaves scratches on stainless steel. Having the controls at the front is awkward. Pan handles sometimes extend over them. Having controls along the side would have been better. The grates are a little high, so it takes longer to heat a pan.
The lighted knobs are very nice and should be on all stoves and cooktops. They are a useful safety feature. The center power boil burner is very useful for large stew pots. The griddle is a nice feature, but it's too small for practical use. We use a separate electric griddle when needed.
Overall, this is a nice cooktop for basic everyday use. It's reliable and attractive. It could have stood above others with a better design.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to review your gas cooktop. We're happy to hear that you like your cooktop! We do apologize for the inconveniences you mentioned. We are constantly working to improve the quality of our products and your feedback is helpful. Thanks for trusting the GE brand! Mike@GEA
I have had profile for years. Yes knobs do not last, but i went to the hardware store and bought brass sleeves (for compression fittings?) for a couple of dollars and slid them over the plastic and has worked perfect for years. I will be getting the profile cafe and will install the brass prior to using.
Here is your review. I have on burner that will not push down and turn. It is impossible to get inside the unit (it is sealed, remember), so if you get a problem piece, it is done. Also, those "metal looking" knobs are only as good as the PLASTIC that does the actual work--grabbing the gas stem and turning. And everyone outside of GE knows that PLASTIC gets brittle after a couple of years in a hot environment. Yes, a gas cooktop can get warm. someone tell GE.
We brought this gas stove in Dec of 2016. One of the burners would not switch off and its really disappointing that a product from GE would have a poor quality.

griddles are to high, takes for ever to even boil the water. Can't get food to sear well because of it. Also plastic knows break easily. All of them broke
