We had this stove installed about 3 month ago and I have to agree with some of the other reviews . Exept of the powe burner in the middle the other burners are not able to get water to a boil. And yes we are having the lid on it. It is even hard to sear anything on these burners. If you bring a pot of water to a boil on the center burner and move it over to one of the others it will stop boiling and will not come back. i actually thought they installed the wrong gas jets but i was mistaking. My old stove was able to even boil or sear on the smallest burner. it would be appreciatet if any helpfull advice is availabel and please dont tell me it is working. Please really look into this. To much money for stove you can only cook on one burner out of 5. We would be more as happy to let a ge tech in our house to show us how to boil water on these burners.
I've had this for approximately 6 months and I love my gas cooktop! It looks heavy duty and professional. It's functioning perfectly and I feel that it's easy to clean. I couldn't be happier with my purhase
After my experience with a GE Profile bought in 2005, I swore I would NEVER buy another GE cook top. Wishing to expand to 5 burners, one with a turbo burner for boiling water fast, I researched for months. Finally pulled the trigger on a GE Cafe. Great choice, very good looking, works excellent, love the lock out feature and the LED lights to let me know a burner is still on. Nice to see that GE took care of some glitches, especially in the ignition system.
I installed this cooktop myself. Followed the instructions and it was easy. My wife grilled a sandwich on the right front burner and it came out golden brown and perfectly cooked. I cooked bacon and hash browns on the griddle this morning and got the same results. The bacon was a perfect as one could expect and tasted awesome. No issues with the high grates as has been posted online, although I would suggest lowering the overall profile of the cook top by at least a 1/2 inch on the grates and the knobs (the reason for my appearance rating at 4/5). I highly recommend this product.
