Very nice range. Burner power is very good, tri level control on central burner is great, deep recess allows for even heating and sealed burners make for easy clean up. The only problem is the knobs; they are nice, solid stainless steel, but the sleeve that attaches them to the burner is low grade, cheap plastic. One of our knobs broke after only 2 months of use and a search on the internet shows a lot of folks have had the same issue. Can't see why GE would build such a nice, high end, expensive range, but cheap out on one of the most used, most crucial controls...the knob!
We bought and installed this in February. The only issues that we have had are that two of the Knobs are stiff to turn. This has caused one of the knobs to crack on the stem.
Purchased this cooktop on the recommendation of a friend who has been in appliance business for years. It operates as expected. I was a little disappointed in the height of the grates as I am very short and my husband purposely lowered the countertop height during remodel for me. The grates sit fairly high above the gas burner and have eliminated the height advantage I thought I had gained. Oh well, should have done a better job of looking at the floor model. Cleans up easily. The griddle option isn't my favorite feature as the heat control is hard to regulate. Overall I am happy with decision.
Grandchildren cannot turn on the burners with the warning noise blaring throughout the house. After locking the cooktop's knobs into the "LOCKED" position, a warning buzzer will "scream" that someone attempted to turn on the gas burners while in the "LOCKED" position. This safety feature sent my grandson into a panic after it sounded when he attempted to turn on one of the cooktop's knobs.
