Way better than the standard 4 burner builder cook

When my mom visited and complained about how long it took to boil a pot of water, I knew it was time for a new cooktop. Love the griddle for quick and easy quesadillas
After just over a year, the igniter stopped working. As it turns out this has been made complicated by making that part inclusive with a whole circuit board, which makes what could have been a simple fix very expensive. As to use of the unit. I cook most every day, so it has gotten consistent use but with meticulous care. The burner on the front left has low btu's so takes forever to heat. I generally have to use the big burner in the center if I really want to get things boiling in any reasonable time. I would not recommend this cooktop to anyone who cooks regularly. It is just not up to the quality or the durability that I expected of a GE product. I wish I had gone with another brand.
I've never had a cook top which is so difficult to keep clean. Grease splatters constantly no matter the flame height. But except for this one issue, it is a delight to work on. The five burners, the simmer feature, the ease of sliding a full pan from one burner to another are all definite pluses as is the griddle. Do they outweigh the constant maintenance? I still don't know.
Just finished our kitchen remodel a couple of months ago. Love this cook top. Plenty of room for many pots, great features, exacting heat, easy clean up. Very happy.
I love my new gas cooktop!! It not only looks great in my kitchen but I love the way it cooks too. I've only had it for a few weeks now so haven't had much time to use all the features it offers, but can't wait to try them out. I like the rapid boil burner in the middle of the cooktop, though I haven't used it yet. I also like the cast iron grill that came with this cooktop. I haven't used it yet either, but will be doing so very soon. What else can I say, it looks good and cooks good. Goes well with all my other new GE Profile/Cafe series appliances.
