Love the grates that cover both burners

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I do a lot of cooking, but my old gas cooktop needed new igniters, and it would have cost much to fix, plus it is 16 years old, so I researched and found what I was looking for, I already have a built in gas grill/griddle so I didn't think I would need the one that comes with this stove, however I really like it, it's perfect for cooking for just my husband and myself.. Also like the 20,000 BTU middle burner, very happy with this choice..
I would recommend this to a friend!

Expensive and am stuck with it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What a terrific gas cooktop, after years of using an electric cooktop, I purchased this after reading several reviews. The burners deliver great heat and the center burner delivers very quick heat to bring things to a boil.
I love the griddle option for cooking bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, pancakes. When cooking with several pans their is plenty of room to fit them all on the cooktop, and they easily slide from one burner to another.
All this at a great value and easily installed and easily changed to adapt to my LP Gas.

Cooking grates TOO HIGH over burners!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This would get an excellent rating if the grates were not so high over the burners. The flames are a long distance from the bottoms of the cookware, even on full high setting. A HUGE amount of the heated air streams up around the pots, heating the tops of the pots, handles and air around the pots so that you need hand protection to pick up or move the cookware. It takes longer to boil water than the electric cook top I replaced! That was totally unexpected, and saddening. I have had gas ranges/cook tops before, this one is the least efficient of any at heating.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

After 12 years with the contractor's cooktop, I love it !

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What a difference this cooktop makes to my kitchen. I just remodeled with new countertops and I could not put the old contractor's model back. I shopped and shopped for a 30" replacement and found this 5 burner model which fit in the same space as my old 4 burner. The high output burners are sealed for easy cleaning and the level grates are very cool. If you want to spruce up your kitchen with a new modern looking cooktop, this is your baby. Large cooking area, a variety of heat output and all the quality I expected from GE Appliances

I was a little apprehensive about being able to use the center burner along with other burners. NOT a problem.
We have a large - 12" cast iron skillet that never worked well on the electric cooktop....which btw - so glad it's gone!
I made gumbo last weekend using 3 burners simultaneously with ease. Regulating the temp was a breeze. No problem with the high grates. I believe that patience is a factor. The high burners keep the food from burning.
Overall, after 1 week - I LOVE IT!! Especially coming from an electric glass cooktop...never again.

Stylish and great function

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a wonderful cooktop that looks great and functions great in my active kitchen. I love the 20K BTU burner, it creates an amazing sear, and the ability move heavy pots across the burners without having to pick them up (aka: drag them) is clutch! I am a foodie and having a cooktop that elevates my performance in the kitchen is invaluable. My ony complaint is that the knobs melt. Why, for a premium product, would the knobs have a plastic coating?
I have recommended this product as the pros out weigh the cons exponentially.
