When we bought it, we were impressed with the rich look ... But after using it few times ... We found out that it is not practical where the griddles are very high. Which in turns takes much longer to cook or boil water ... Which is so disappointing ... I wish the have a lower height griddles that can replace the ones come with the cooktop ... Worse is the fact we are stock with it and can't replace it ... Otherwise it's a waist of money and have to buy another one ..
We bought this cooktop because we wanted to update the appliances in the 10-year old home. I found it to be very attractive and find that the lighted controls to be an excellent safety feature since in our old home when the kitchen was very bright I left the burner on (low flame) because it was difficult to see that the burner was on. I love this cook top BUT...the grates are very high off the burners resulting in a longer wait for water to boil, etc. They're also very heavy. I would also suggest to GE that the stainless surrounding the burners be textured so that they don't scratch when being cleaned. Suggest GE offer lighter weight (and lower) grates that would actually fit in the dishwasher.
Nice layout of the burners for an 30-inch wide stove top. Great high BTU center burner for quick boiling water for pasta and other items. Good temperature control for cooking in my opinion. I haven't use the griddle yet but I will soon. I like the control lock so I know that stove is off when I leave for the day or vacation. Cleaning is easy on the stove top.
Almost two months since we installed this and after hosting a full house of relatives over the holiday we could not be happier. Even the griddle is easy to clean.
All good features as described, especially the center burner.. Front and back burners are too close each other. Only two can be efficiently used simultaneously. It will be great if an additional inch of space between front and back burners can be provided.
