Good system but have had problems

While I like the convenience and the quality of the output (coffee), I've just received my third coffemaker (second replacement). Original was bought in February, 2010; averages to about one every six months. Support is excellent and the replacements arrived in about three business days from order date. As for recommending the brewer to a friend, I would; with qualifications concerning reliability.
Pros: Fast, Stylish, Easy to use, Good looking, Accommodates All Cup Sizes
I would recommend this to a friend!

CARE for your Kureg - it'll last YEARS!

I LOVE my "Ancient" Kureg! So I thought I would add my "experience" here so others can benefit. Some complain about it being noisy. Easy fix: go to a discount store & find a dense foam kitchen floor mat in a color that coordinates with your kitchen. Cut it to a size that extends no more than an inch beyond the footprint of your Kureg. Place it underneath your machine. In my case, the mat reduced the noise by 50-60%. Others complain about the Kureg brewing only 1/2 a cup, and /or the pump failing. After using my Kureg for over 2 years without any problems - we moved from Florida to Colorado. In Florida the water is extremely "hard", so we had a heavy duty water softener. In Colorado, we were surprised to find that the water is actually (compared to Florida) quite "soft". Or so we thought. Within a month my brewer began "acting up"...decreased cup size, slow brewing, sometimes only one cup size would illuminate. I checked online & found that ALL of my brewing problems could stem from scale build-up. Descaling with pure vinegar did the trick. I did not, however, begin a "routine descaling" program. Within a few months my brewer went totally haywire. It was running water from the water chamber directly out the overflow tube & back into the water chamber. The pump was making short grinding sounds, and the Kureg service tech listened to that sound (over the phone) & pronounce the pump dead. She also generously offered a sizable discount towards a new Kureg. While I was tempted by such a kind offer, I am rather stubborn - & was unwillng to give up on my machine. So I filled the water chamber with vinegar & repeatedly ran the pump to try & get the vinegar through the interior of the brewer. It took a while, but finally there were a few drops of vinegar coming out of the brewer. I then followed the online advice and left the brewer to sit filled with the vinegar for 4 hours. That was the hard part, as I am also impatient! But the 4 hours worked magic. After running 2 full water chambers of clean water - My Kureg has been working like a brand new machine ever since. And here is my recommendation regarding descaling: don't wait for the "descale light" to come on: descale regularly. I now do it every month or 2. It takes about 10 minutes to run the vinegar into the machine, & it needs to sit for 2-4 hours. So I do it on a rainy day, or any day I will have some time to spend in the kitchen. I hope this info will help you enjoy your amazing Kuerg! In my house at least, having a perfectly brewed cup of coffee INSTANLY when I need it is a very good thing! (my Kureg is now an "ancient" 4 years old!)
Pros: Fast, Easy to use, Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Durable, Multiple Settings, Easy to, Stylish

Very Happy with our Keurig

We have had our Keurig Platinum brewer for close to 4 years and are very happy with the brewer and coffee. We make probably 20-25 cups of coffee each week and I have not had one single problem with the brewer. I have never descaled the machine (maybe we are in an area with fewer minerals in the water?). It can be tricky to clean the inside of the cup, but I use a sponge and then run through a couple of cycles of clean water. We're now thinking about upgrading to a brewer with more cup sizes, but I hesitate because our brewer is still working so well!
Pros: Stylish, Easy to use, Durable, Fast

Not worth it!!!

[...] The replacement lasted for about 1-1/2 years, but broke down yesterday. The customer rep said they couldn't help me because the replacement was no longer under warranty. I had just ordered four boxes of K-Kups and am now debating what to do. To buy another expensive replacement doesn't seem to be a desirable option. I cannot recommend this product. The coffee is great when the machine works, but it is not reliable.
Pros: Multiple Settings, Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Fast, Great when it's working, Easy to use
Cons: Pricey / Poor Value, Not dependable, Fragile, HARD TO CLEAN
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Look elsewhere - Not durable

I use my B70 once per day. I turn it on, brew one cup and turn it off. I am on my 2nd brewer in less than 1 year and the 2nd one just broke. Luckily [...]will take it back and refund my money. The brewer is excellent - when its working properly. But for 2 to die within 1 year shows the quality and longevity. The pump started dying on my first unit and my 2nd unit started to have electrical problems where the unit would turn off for no reason and then start leaking water through the k-cup.
Pros: Multiple Settings, Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Fast, Easy to use
Cons: Breaks easily, Fragile
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Loud isn't so bad...

I am amazed by the number of negative reviews. I purchased a previous platinum model in 2006 well before Keurig hit the major markets. I have had it for 5 years and my only complaint is how much noisier it is than the models following it. My mom bought the quieter model a few months after mine and has had to replace it at least 3 or 4 times. I still have my original. It says a lot about mass production and the quality or the lack thereof. I would hope that Keurig would have recognized this and go back to producing a higher quality product. As long as the reviews are this negative and as long as my mom continues to replace hers I will keep my good quality, well running, loud machine.
Pros: Durable, Easy to use, Fast, Multiple Settings
Cons: Noisy

I received my first Keurig as a gift. loved it-until one day when i had it just under 3 months, would not refill on it's own and flashed "prime" after each cup. Made a phone call and customer service was very nice and helpful. After unable to fix with troubleshooting advice they sent me a new one . 5 months and working great, use it daily ,usually about 4 times. I agree with another review-they should send postage to return the holder they require back . also agree, when it is good, it is very, very good!
Pros: Easy to use, Fast, Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Multiple Settings, Stylish

Verified Purchase:No
How much can I say about a machine that worked for 2 days then stopped brewing ? It would brew a hot cup of water but when putting in the k-cup it stopped. I don't get it. Called customer service and they helped instruct me how to clean ? Why am I cleaning a new machine ?!
Cons: HARD TO CLEAN, Fragile
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
