Wonderful brewing system, however...

I absolutely love this machine, however, am disappointed that I am on my third brewer in 18 months. My first Platnum model ([$]) lasted 12 months, my second (Breville model $250.00) lasted 3 months, and I am on my third machine (Platnum model [$]) and it sounds like it has problems as well. On the first two machines both motors stopped working. The concept of these brewers is fantastic, but Keurig needs to step up the quality of their machines. Paying $590.00 in 18 months is very costly.
Pros: Easy to use, Stylish, Multiple Settings, Accommodates All Cup Sizes
Cons: Brewer has short lifespan

I was given my first brewer as a gift. It didn't last the first two months. My sister had a similar experience with the same brewer. She told me how impressed she was with Keurig customer service. I called Keurig customer service. They listened to my complaint and went above and beyond to make things right. I had a new brewer within a couple of days. That was over 10 months ago. The brewer continues to work flawlessly. I would recommend it to anyone.

Poorly designed, but convenient.

Have had this machine for about a year and a half. It is very convenient, but has been given us problems brewing consistently after about 3 months. Sometimes it brews a full cup and other times only half. I recently cleaned it with B-Brite, a cleaning powder I use to clean and sanitize my beer making equipment and bottles and it totally resolved the problem. I put two teaspoons in the water reservoir and cycled the machine until empty. I repeated the process again and then rinsed the reservoir and filled it with clean water. I cycled through two fillings to insure the cleaner was purged from the system and the unit is like new. You can purchase B-Brite from any beer or wine supply store. There are several on line.
Pros: Easy to use, Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Stylish, Multiple Settings
Cons: HARD TO CLEAN

Great Coffee

First let me say I could only give it a 3 star rating because it was judged on overall rating. If it was rated on the coffee I would have gave it 5 stars.Same for recommending it to a friend, I have recommended it for the great coffee but told them they would probably have problems with the brewer.I'm on my 3rd or 4th brewer. Same problem every time. [...]. If they can figure out the kinks with the brewer they will have a great machine! Besides the great coffee I like that you brew 1 cup at a time so you always have fresh coffee, it's brews quickly, it's attractive, wide variety of coffee, tea and hot chocolate. I'm hoping this one has the kinks out of it.

I logged onto the website today to see what new models were out. I love my Platinum but wanted to see what is new. I have had this one for two years and just love it. At our house we could not live without it. The only down fall I have had is that it shut off on us a few times. Other than that, no problem and very reliable. I read from another comment about now leaving the cups in the machine. We have done that several times. That's probably the few times it must have clogged and shut off. Thanks for the information.

Perfect single cup of coffee

I've only had my Keurig for about two months and I have had no problems with it. I am a single woman and an avid, Gold Star carrying Starbucks card holder. Since purchasing my new Platinum Keurig, I've had little to no desire to visit the coffee houses. I can make one cup of coffee and go (no cleaning of the coffee pot or throwing away messy coffee grinds or purchasing coffee filters). Also, if I want a second cup...well I can make another and it can be a totally different flavor. I've made hot tea as well as iced tea (which, if you haven't done that yet, you're missing out!). I've read the reviews about bad customer service but I haven't experienced that. I ordered some coffee varieties from the Keurig company and when there was one very small issue, I was compensated over and above what I should have. I was extremely impressed with that and of course that experience has made me more loyal to ordering my coffee from them directly. If I have any issue with the Keurig company, it would only be that sometimes the coffee is out of stock when I'm prepared to purchase. The machine itself,however, is great! It has, in my opinion, revolutionized coffee making. Again, to have the ability to make one single cup of coffee and make it stronger, weaker or however you like it...I can say nothing negative about that at all. I love the Platinum and would never purchase any other size. On another note, I run the cycle without the coffee as the manual suggests) to clean it out occasionally. Again, extremely easy to do and I've had no problems with the machine. I LOVE MINE! Not only would I recommend it to a friend, I would purchase it for a friend!!!

The Platinum Brewing System is designed and UL approved for household use. Keurig recommends customers use Keurig brewers consistent with their intended use.
