Great Coffee - Unsatisfactory Machine

Unfortunately, I need to agree with many of the negative reviews of the Platinum B70 model. Purchased this model in retail store in Feb10 and with a week the machine is not performing properly. It shuts off for no apparent reason and when it stays on long enough to make a cup of coffee, every 1 of 5 cups is "short-poured" in that the machine only produces a 1/3 to 1/2 cup of coffee. I've only ever used filtered water in the machine so these issues are not related to water quality. On a positive note, the coffee quality when working is excellent. I'll happily update this review once I am able to see how customer service may be able to help.
Pros: Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Stylish, Multiple Settings, Easy to use
Cons: Fragile
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The Platinum Brewing System is designed and UL approved for household use. Keurig recommends customers use Keurig brewers consistent with their intended use.

Our Third Platinum and Still Trying

A waste of time and money. We have been through three Platinum brewers and they ALL have stopped working after a while. Customer service okay when they read off of the script. They don't tell you what to do for the week or so before a new brewer arrives.
Pros: Stylish, Easy to use, Accommodates All Cup Sizes
Cons: Junk
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Like another reviewer, I am on my third brewer. The first two just stopped brewing cups until I reset it. The third one doesn't draw in water and the pump runs and then shuts off the machine.
Pros: Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Easy to use
Cons: Fragile

Boy o' boy do I love the idea of this machine. I like not having to make a whole pot of coffee which goes to waste. Customer service is great at sending out replacement machines and they really try to make it right,,,,,but......what we really need are realible coffee makers...lol duh...I'm on my third machine since the end of Jan. Now I will be calling again for a forth replacement :( what a waste of money.20 years from now there will be a special landfill full of these broken down machines......
Pros: Multiple Settings, Easy to use, Stylish

Great coffee when it works

I bought my first Platinum in the spring. After a couple of months of service, it began to shut down after making one cup. I discovered this was because it was not refilling the internal reservoir after using up the heated water. I also did some internet research and found this was an all too common problem. I called Keurig customer service, who were great. They sent a replacement unit immediately - no charge - and no requirement to send the old one back. KUDOS to Keurig for their great customer service. Unfortunately I needed it, again. After about two weeks, the new brewer began to produce short cups, or no cups. I firmly hit the top (in frustration) and it began to work again! But, it did the same thing every time after being turned off. Because my hand was getting sore, I called Keurig customer service again. This time I insisted on a different model brewer, paid the difference in price between the two, so we'll see how that works out. Keurig needs to redesign the pump/reservoir system. They aren't making any profit continually replacing defective brewers.
Pros: Durable, Multiple Settings, Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Stylish, Easy to use
Cons: Poor design, Defective
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Was great until it stopped working

This was a great product until it stopped working suddenly. The machine says it is brewing, but it is not. Tried reseating the reservoir, turning off the power, cleaning the parts, etc. No luck. Called customer service. [...] The machine is only 15 months old and brews 1 cup a day. It didn't last very long.
Pros: Easy to use, Accommodates All Cup Sizes

On my 4th Brewer

We have this machine at work and I loved it so I bought myself one. The 1st one lasted 5 months. The store wouldn't take it back so I bought another one that lasted 1 day. I exchanged it for another one that lasted 1 week, that one lasted 6 weeks and guess what? It is not working. The pump on every one of them failed and this one also shuts off on its own. You should remove them from the market until you have figured out the problems. There are way too many people having the same problems. These machines are defective.
Pros: When it works it's great
Cons: Stops working after 1 use
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This machine was a horror

We bought this machine just before Christmas '09. It started going bad in January. At first I thought it was me. I thought that when we first got it the machine would draw in water, brew the cup of coffee and then draw in and heat the water for the next cup. Sometime in January it started only drawing in some water and then when I hit the brew button it would draw in more water before brewing. I thought that this would affect the temperature of the coffee and checked it to find the brew temp was about 168 degrees. I called Keurig service and explained the problem but all the tech seemed to want to talk about was the brew temperature, saying I had to preheat the cup to get a proper reading, not the fact that it was drawing in the water differently that when first purchased. After about another week it started to draw in water unsuccessfully and then it just shut down. We returned this one for another but that one smelled horribly like solvent in the reservoir even after washing several times. This is going back also and we are considering the Cuisinart SS-700 even though it is more money. It has a 3 year warranty.
