Platinum Brewing System with K-Cups by K

We use this product daily. However sometimes it will stop brewing before cup is full. We have timer set but shuts off beforehand. We traded up from the special edition. Should have kept the special edition, no problems with that one.
Pros: Multiple Settings, Stylish
Cons: Shuts off too soon, Doesn't fill cup to size, Doesn't always brew

Platinum is garbage

Got the platinum as a wedding gift. Could not wait to use it. Well disappointment set in quick. It only lasted a couple of months. Returned it for a replacement. That only lasted a couple of weeks. Returned that one for a replacement. That lasted 6 months. Now we are on the 4th platinum brewer and having the same problems. Now it trips the GFCI outlet in our kitchen along with not making a full cup of coffee. We use RO/DI filtered water thru out of kitchen and along with the charcoal filters that sit in the reservoir this brewer still [*] out within a couple of months.Im getting real tired of packing this brewer up and returning it. The only thing that makes me feel better is the worker at the stores see me and the box and says "another one" and "I'm not the only one with a garbage brewer"Really wish they would fix this problem.
Pros: Multiple Settings, Easy to use, Accommodates All Cup Sizes
Cons: Fragile, Doesn't work long

Having 2nd cup trouble.

We are on the second Platinium maker and still having a problem. Usually they work for 2-3 days then start kicking out when making a second cup. Have told customer service each time we have got a new one from them that it has same problem as ther previous ones. It is a fantastic idea just need one that will work day in day out hope this happen soon. They have been very nice to us and have sent us a replacement each time we get a bad one but it seems like that is all we get are bad ones.. Hope solution for this maker is near???? This is what I have told them over and over, that when you press the button to make coffee the machine usually pumps water to the tank and then makes the coffee no problem but at the end of making coffee you can hear the pump kick in again to pump more water to the tank not as much as first time, and this is when the pump fails it WILL NOT pump the water and after a short time it kicks the power off ???

Cons: Failure to pump seconds, Fragile

Serious Manufacturing Defect

I received my first Platinum in August 09 as a gift. I fell in love. Then it stopped working...kept saying descale, which I did multiple times and then it just stopped working all together. Customer Service was fantastic and sent me a new brewer. 3 days later, I started having the pump issue where the brewer shut off. Again, customer service was fabulous and sent me a new one. At this point I started getting a complex. Within a week, started having the same issue. Called again, and yes polite, helpful customer service sent a new one out. The new brewer arrived and you guessed it...am now having the same issue. I did some research and realized, much to my relief, that this isn't only me. I haven't called because I know that they are out of stock and I don't want a lesser model. Just waiting until this obviously major manufacturing defect is fixed to get one that works. I do love the brewer systems and have my fingers crossed that they resolve this issue so I don't have to go back to Mr. Coffee!
Pros: Stylish, Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Multiple Settings, Easy to use
Cons: Frustrating, Defective

Worked Fine for a couple of days...

It worked great the first several days then would completely shut down after every cup. Then it was both locking up during the Brew cycle and shutting down after every cup. Customer Service was friendly and they said they were going to send me a new one free of charge and it will ship 3-10 business days after the order is processed, but she (Lindsay) failed to mention that they are out of stock until April 2010. I purchased in February 2010.
Pros: Less noisy than Elite, Stylish, Easy to use
Cons: Not durable, Line Appears Defective, Pricey for non-dependable

after 3 replacements, we give up.

After the replacement for the replacement for the replacement died this morning, we've given up on the Platinum and are going with the Breville next. The customer service people are wonderful, the coffee is out of this world, but so far the brewers are absolutely awful. They work for a week or two, then one morning brew half a cup, refuse to accept more water and shut themselves off. Thus begins the endless loop of on, and off ...on and off, with no ability to brew ever returning. But, like I said before, the customer service IS excellent ...sending out replacement brewers readily. I just wish the quality control portion of the company would kick into gear and get these brewers fixed.
Pros: Durable, Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Stylish
Cons: Fragile, Complicated

I love this machine, but am on the third one. My husband bought one for me for Christmas and it stopped working immediately. It kept shutting off. The second one worked for about 2 1/2 months and then the pump would not work and it kept shutting off. Both times I returned to the warehouse store where I got it. I did call customer service and they were great, offering to send me a new machine. Since both times were within 90 days of purchase, I chose to return to store. If it happens again, I may just return for refund. I love the coffee and the brewer, just wished it would work.
Pros: Easy to use, Great coffee, Multiple Settings
Cons: Pump stopped working

This brewer was wonderful during the first month or so until it stopped working right. There seemed to be a problem with the water pump. I got no response from customer service online but when I called them, they were wonderful and sent a new brewer immediately. I am hoping I dont have the same problem with the new one, but am a little concerned after reading all the other comments.

Cons: Unreliable
