GREAT (while it works)

Eventually, this machine (and all other Keurig models, based on my brief Google searching) will break. Ours lasted about 2 years, but we don't use it every day. It just stopped brewing altogether. I tried every troubleshooting suggestion in the manual and a few others I could find online. I descaled. I used filters. I poked the needle holes with paper clips. Still broken. Do you know what happens when your Keurig stops brewing? It's garbage. Seriously, that's what the customer service person told me. If all troubleshooting methods fail, your machine is garbage. They don't even bother to refurb them. They will, however, offer you a discounted replacement. Gee, isn't that nice? I supposed it's nicer than no discount, but it is a sad thing, to me, when a company will only warrant a product for 1 year and then make you buy a replacement. I can't imagine the technology doesn't exist to make these things last longer. I spend enough on k-cups, but now I have to plan to buy a new brewer on a bi-annual basis. I took the bait anyway because we rely on this thing for coffee. I just hope this one breaks BEFORE the warranty expires!

Easy way to please all coffee tastes

I will never go back to a regular coffee percolator. This is the best. My husband and I don't have to fight about which coffee to buy anymore.

My husband and I use our Keurig Platinum EVERYDAY. We love it. It's fast and simple to use. You can adjust the settings so that it automatically comes on and goes off. It blinks when the water reservoir needs filled. There are several size settings to choose from. I love this machine!

Three Months Without a Probelem

I set my timer to be on from 6AM to 11PM and generally use at least a full reservoir a day. Love having a piping hot cup of coffee anytime I want it without brewing a whole pot. I used to use a French press, which is great for a good cup of coffee, but I had to heat the water to 190 deg, measure the grounds, add the water, stir the mix, set the timer for 4 min., then press. Finally, I had to pour the finished brew out of the press and save whatever I didn't drink immediately to re-heat later. I usually grind my own whole beans and use the My K-cup adapter. Very economical this way, and I get far better coffee than any supplied in K-cups (including many varieties not available in K-cups). My conical burr grinder will dispense exactly the amount I need directly into the My-K-cup. I use the coarsest setting on my Breville grinder. I have used pre-ground "drip-grind" coffee from the store in a pinch and it worked fine with no clogs at all. So far with ~100 reservoirs worth of coffee prepared with my B78, it has been 100% reliable. I bought one for my son and daughter-in-law and they are enjoying theirs as well without any problems. I have just ordered another one for my summer home. The only thing I found as a con is that some travel mugs won't fit under the dispenser even with the drip tray removed. I did find some very good 7" tall travel mugs that fit and keep the brew warm for several hours.
