It doesn't last long. All three last to 18-24 mos. This my third. The third one just died on me tonite. Even I do clean when it prompt de-scaling.
Pros: Easy to use, Stylish, Fast
Cons: Pricey / Poor Value, Noisy, HARD TO CLEAN, Short live to 18 mos

Still Works Great

I had a problem with it not working. So I played with the water resevior ( taking it in and out ) and it worked. Now if it "does not work" I just push down on the resevior and it works.
Pros: Easy to use, Durable, Fast
Cons: HARD TO CLEAN

The Platinum Brewing System is designed and UL approved for household use. Keurig recommends customers use Keurig brewers consistent with their intended use.

Disappointed in Quality of New Platinum

I am writing this review to comment on the poor quality of the newer Platinum Brewers. Three years ago I received a Platinum Brewer for Christmas and it's still going strong. (I do follow the recommended maintenance protocol, by the way, and also use filtered water.) Several months ago, based on the good experience with the first one, I bought a new Platinum Brewer for a cabin we were building and recently tried it out for the first time. Worked fine - for about a week, after which it quit working at all!!! The one I received in exchange for the defective one is noticeably cheaper in quality (though not in price!) The handle assembly which necessarily sees a lot of action each time you brew a cup is now made of thin, cheap plastic and has a lot play in it, i.e. wiggles around when used; so I cannot imagine it having any chance of holding up very long at all. It's only a matter of time before it breaks and renders the whole machine useless. In addition, I do not care for the redesign of the water reservoir. It is now seated over part of the left side of the drip tray where it interferes with the placement of a cup or mug. Having an older version of the same Keurig makes the differences in the two machines painfully and glaringly obvious. And those are only the differences that are readily visible - which of course makes one wonder how much cheaper the inner workings of the brewer are now. Judging by the number of recent bad reviews . . . well, confidence is low at this point - very low.

Brewer doesn't work properly

I wish I had read reviews of this product before we purchased less than a year ago, but my hubby is an impulse buyer and saw it on sale! The Platinum Brewer worked beautifully for 3 months, which we thought was going to be great to have for the holidays (since we do most of the entertaining), but we were sadly mistaken. The brewer stopped brewing full cups before the holidays and it was quite embarrassing to tell company they would have to get coffee from our local coffee shop because our "fancy" coffee brewer can't brew more than 2oz of coffee...At this point the brewer sometimes brews and we are lucky to get a 4oz cup (and that is with it set on the travel size mug), and this is after we did all the maintenance issues per the handbook and this website! The brewer hummms when you press the "brew" button and nothing ever happens. We have to turn it on and off before we may or may not get that 4oz cup of coffee that is SOOO strong you can't enjoy it.I have finally had enough and contacted customer service - so we will see what the results are - but based on the reviews I am not very confident in this product line or standing behind their product - I am thinking I should run out to [@] and buy that Cusinart Coffee Maker that I have been eyeing for several months while it is on sale - at least this time I would have done my researched before purchase.

Cons: Noisy, Doesn't last, Pricey / Poor Value, Slow, Fragile

Second Keurig that has failed, followed all instructions but it's a guessing game in the morning if I will get a cup of coffee or not, either will not brew, have to turn machine on and off a few times to get it to brew, OR it will start to brew and quit after a few drops, this started a month after the warranty expired, called Keurig and all they can say "it is not repairable and we can offer one at a reduced price" not helpful!!...years ago spent $30 on a coffee maker at [@]that will not quit unless I probably drop it !!...expected more from Keurig

I have replaced this machine twice now. Seems to work well for the first 6 months then it becomes tempermental and stops working. I have read all the suggestions online on Burping the machine, De-scaling and ect. I am very displeased with this machine and will probably just go back to using a Bunn System.

I bought this machine in Dec. 2010. It is now Aug. 2012 and it is NOT working. I did everything suggested by the company, descaling, and cleaning the needle. I, too, called the company and got the standard "sorry", but you can get a brand new one at a discount price. Is that what they do? Make a product that lasts for 15 months and then sell you another lemon at a discount price?? C'mon! Where is the customer satisfaction, and making of quality products?
