Does Not Last

I'm on my third one in a year and a half. There is a design flaw that causes the unit to fail in 6-9 months. Customer service has been great at replacing them, but I would rather have a long term machine.
Pros: Fast, Easy to use
Cons: Poor Quality, Fragile, Doesn't last, Six month investment, Pricey / Poor Value, Expensive
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I just love this machine. I bought it because I tend to waste more coffee in a regular coffee maker than I drink. I thought it would be hard to set up or program when I pulled it out of the box but it is not. It comes with easy instructions and just a few step and then you are on your way to something amazing! You will love this coffee maker! I plan to buy one for my mother in law for Christmas! :)
Pros: Multiple Settings, Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Stylish, Fast, Easy to use, Durable

The Platinum Brewing System is designed and UL approved for household use. Keurig recommends customers use Keurig brewers consistent with their intended use.

For day-in and day out use, the Kuerig is the best "pod-racer" in the pack. I was using an Aero-Press before, since everyone else in the house drinks that aweful, gaggy flavored stuff. The Kuerig has helped maintain return calm to the coffee times. What more can one ask of a humble appliance...
Pros: K-Cup gives me control, Multiple Settings, Easy to use, Very Little MESS, Brew Temp is perfect

They don't last!!

We bought our 1st Keurig about 2 1/2 years ago...it was the smaller one ($99.99). It lasted about 3 months. Keurig sent us another one...very noisy...also lasted only 3 months. Read reviews on-line...not good. Decided to upgrade because the reviews for the Platinum were better. It died today...26 months old. I guess we should be thankful since, from reading the on-line reviews, the life expectancy for the Plantinum is about 18 months. I babied that machine...I de-scaled it every 3 months (even though the de-scale light did not come on), we only brewed 3 cups per day and the machine did not stay on for more than 1 hour per day. Keurig offered us another Platinum for [$]instead of the going rate of[$]. Not bad....however, "back in the day," you could rely on appliances lasting more than 1 1/2 years.
Pros: Easy to use, Fast
Cons: Fragile, Noisy

Poor Quality Machine

Machine stopped pumping water just after the year warrantee ran out (18 months). Customer service reps were very nice but not at all helpful with fixing the machine. I was told there was no known major issues with the machine. Then the next sentence was offered a more then 50% discount on a new one. Seemed odd to be given a 50% plus discount if there was no known major issues. I would wait for a more reliable version of the system.
Pros: Easy to use, Accommodates All Cup Sizes
Cons: Durable, Pricey / Poor Value, HARD TO CLEAN
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I can tell you if you are out of the warranty all they will do is offer $38 towards a new brewer. I have had 2 and both have had major issues. It does not matter if you descale often or use distilled water, these brewers don't last. My first work leaked at 8 months, was replaced and that one lasted 10 months before I had major issues. I called and they told me to continue to descale etc. It lasted long enough to go out of warranty, hence the $38 discount. According to consumer repports all these types of brewers have the same problems.
Pros: Easy to use, Multiple Settings
Cons: Lasts 8-12 months, HARD TO CLEAN, Pricey / Poor Value, Fragile
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
