BAD BREWER DON'T BUY

I have had this brewer for three years, three different ones. I HAVE HAD TO BUY A NEW ONE EACH YEAR. They do not last and are very expensive. I am on my last one and will do something else next year when this one gives up. The idea is great but they last 9 to 12 months. Every time I call I get a different person telling me to use different water. I use mineral free water and they say use filtered water. I user filtered water and they say dont do that. I use reverse osmos water (No Minerals) and they say that wrecked my brewer. I will never buy another.

We initially had problems, and replaced it twice, but..one lovely customer service rep. Told us...Use Filtered water, like from a filter system in the fridge, or bottled water. We use the water from the fridge, cheaper, and we have not had one single problem since then, ever! The convienence and ease is my favorite aspect as well as having different kinds of coffee to try every day! It is a perfect cup every day, and... It converted my spouse to start liking coffee as he could do it on his flavor profiles and tastes. As a person that has problems with my grip and tremors, no more spilled grounds , no more wasted coffee. Tea is great, too. No more steeping time, so overall, it truly is my favorite thing in the kitchen. It is the best gift from my husband I ever received!
Pros: Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Easy to use, No messy spills, Fast, Durable, Multiple Settings
Cons: Must use filtered water
I would recommend this to a friend!

We use this contantly and have had no problems. However, before this one we had one that the water pumping quit working. After talking to other family members and sales people that had problems too. We all decided to purchase the water filter that fits inside, about $20. All have had no problems since. Before we figured out the filter was the answer we returned 5 different ones. Since filter, no problems. We use the coffee maker constantly. Water filters should be required(oh yes, we were using filtered water before this) Hold on I'm going to get a cup of coffee....yum
Pros: Use water filter inside, Stylish, Durable, Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Easy to use, Multiple Settings, Fast

I got the Platinum Brewer in Cinnamon, with auto-on as a birthday gift 6 months ago. About a week ago it started making short (or NO) cups, so I descaled, and used all the cleaning tips as recommended by Keurig to no avail. When I called Customer Service, they said they'd send me a new one...however, they no longer had the Cinnamon color, and the one they sent(it arrived in 2 days) has no timer. It did, however, have a bigger resevoir. And hopefully fewer bells and whistles means it'll last longer. I just think a product that costs this much should last longer than 6 months. Obviously a lot of other customers have had similar problems. I'd have to think long and hard before buying another, or recommending this to a friend. And I really wanted to love it!
Pros: Multiple Settings, Stylish, Easy to use
Cons: Pricey / Poor Value, Fragile
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

They don't seem to hold up

I had 2 of these quit in less than a year. Thankfully [@] generous return policy allowed me a second B70 which lasted no longer before not dispensing at all. I traded up from the second B70 to the Cuisinart model. It lasted nearly a year. Time for another trip to [@]...it merely flashes "NOT READY" and can't be turned off. I only make 3 or 4 cups a day.
Pros: Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Easy to use, Multiple Settings, Fast, Stylish
Cons: Don't last long

Dissapointed...but will get another

I was so excited when I got this for Christmas in 2010. I used it every day, I loved that I could have a fresh cup anytime I wanted. My kids loved the hot chocolate. It is easy to get hooked on the ease and not having to go through making a full pot, it getting cold or wasting it. Then about 14 months every few days you would hear the motor but no water...shut it off...start over and then it would go. For a couple of month it went back to working normal again....then one morning this month motor trying hard nothing! I could not get it to go again....I had to pull out my old coffee pot and I hate it! From everything I read it sounds like the life span is 17 months.....even with its issues it still seems to be the best of the bunch. I will probably break down and get another one, but register this time so if there is a problem it will be taken care of .....customer service from what I hear is very good.
Pros: Fast, Easy to use, Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Multiple Settings
Cons: Not durable, Unreliable, Noisy

Awesome coffee - for one year only!

Once we discovered that we needed to use the strongest coffees to get a decent cup we truly loved our Keurig Platinum. The convenience and hot drink options were marvellous and we used it a few times a day. But it broke after just over a year, with all the descale and pump problems everyone else is having.Very sad that it's broken - Keurig can't you please fix this product? We were great fans of your machine for almost 14 months and wish it were more durable. This is the ideal coffee maker for anyone who wants to drop [$] for a new machine every year. For everyone else, avoid this defective and poorly designed brewer!
Pros: Fast, Easy to use, Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Perfect cup every time
Cons: Fragile, Pricey / Poor Value, Clear design problems, Breaks after 1 year

The Platinum Brewing System is designed and UL approved for household use. Keurig recommends customers use Keurig brewers consistent with their intended use.
