This coffee maker is great for a quick cup or for giving guest many choices of coffee from flavored to decaf. There was a pump problem with earlier units (including mine) that Keurig has addressed. Once my unit was verified as one of the defective units (by serial number), Keurig replaced it with no hassle whatsoever. Tip: If you have a really large mug, just pretend you changed the K-cup and press brew again. I select the largest size followed by the smallest, and it fills my cup perfectly.
Pros: Stylish, Easy to use, Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Multiple Settings

The Platinum Brewing System is designed and UL approved for household use. Keurig recommends customers use Keurig brewers consistent with their intended use.

Great coffee when it works

I bought my first Platinum in the spring. After a couple of months of service, it began to shut down after making one cup. I discovered this was because it was not refilling the internal reservoir after using up the heated water. I also did some internet research and found this was an all too common problem. I called Keurig customer service, who were great. They sent a replacement unit immediately - no charge - and no requirement to send the old one back. KUDOS to Keurig for their great customer service. Unfortunately I needed it, again. After about two weeks, the new brewer began to produce short cups, or no cups. I firmly hit the top (in frustration) and it began to work again! But, it did the same thing every time after being turned off. Because my hand was getting sore, I called Keurig customer service again. This time I insisted on a different model brewer, paid the difference in price between the two, so we'll see how that works out. Keurig needs to redesign the pump/reservoir system. They aren't making any profit continually replacing defective brewers.

Cons: Poor design, Defective

Great machine!Great company!

I don"t drink coffee but my wife loves it, so I bought one for her for christmas this year. She hates "gadgets" but right out the box she loved it. It is fast and she says hot every time and a really good taste. 4 months later the machine would sometimes, let's just say "not work well". Called customer service and told them the problem and in 5 minutes he said they would ship me another machine and discard the old machine and they would send 2 boxes of coffee. This day and age this is a NUMBER 1 COMPANY! No try this, try that, just make me happy with no yelling or anything. KEURIG CUSTOMER FOR LIFE!
Pros: Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Durable, Stylish, Easy to use, Multiple Settings

DONT BUT THIS. I JUST GOT MY 4th REPLACEMENT AND IT LASTED ONLY 3 DAYS!!! WILL ONLY BREW 1 CUP THEN SHUTS OFF. EVERY MACHINE IS THE SAME.AFTER 4 IN A ROW I HAVE TO BELEIVE THAT THERE IS A 100% FAIL RATE ON THESE MACHINES.KUREG IS ALLWAYS WILLING TO SEND OUT REPLACEMENTS AND THATS NICE BUT HOW ABOUT MAKING A [$] MACHINE THAT WORKED? I ASKED FOR AN UPGRADE TO THE BRAVELLI AND THEY WERE WILLING TO DO THAT SO [...] WE WILL SEE ABOUT THAT ONE. ALL THESE REPLACEMENTS.... AND THEY HAVE ME THROW AWAY THE DEFECTIVE ONES.... NO WONDER THE MACHINES AND THE COFFEE ARE SOOOO EXPENSIVE. THEY HAVE TO RECOUP THEIR LOSSES SOMEHOW. ILL KEEP ON GETTING THE REPLACEMENTS AS I NEED TO RECOUP THE COST OF MY REUSABLE FILTER. DONT BUY ANY OF THESE MACHINES. GOTTA CALL CORPORATE HQ NOW.

Trying to work with the system

Boy o' boy do I love the idea of this machine. I like not having to make a whole pot of coffee which goes to waste. Customer service is great at sending out replacement machines and they really try to make it right,,,,,but......what we really need are realible coffee makers...lol duh...I'm on my third machine since the end of Jan. Now I will be calling again for a forth replacement :( what a waste of money.20 years from now there will be a special landfill full of these broken down machines......

I have had my Keurig for just about a year now. I used the reusable filter for about 6 months and realized my Keurig was giving me less and less coffee in my cup until finally it stated "Descale" on the unit. I did the white vinager cleaning and it has been working fine ever since. I also stopped using the reusable filter, cheaper is not always better especially when it comes to your Keurig. I recommended this unit to a friend and she had the problem with the water pump but thankfully I have yet to experience it.
Pros: Stylish, Easy to use
Cons: HARD TO CLEAN

Well balanced brewing system!

Very stylish and easy to use brewer. Perfect for people like me who don't like to lounge about in the morning and want a quick no hassle cup of coffee to start the day. Great variety of brew sizes as well as an iced beverage setting (have not tried this yet, but look forward to some of the iced tea varieties being in stock!) Set up was a breeze and the program options are great which negates the location of the power switch as you can set the time to power up and down for when you need it most. Large water reservoir is great so you don't have to refill as often. All in all great brewer if you want a well built machine that can produce some great coffee without all the fuss of dealing with filters, grinders, daily filling and all the clean up that goes with it!
