Great Idea, Great Product, Bad pump

I love this coffee maker when it works. Great coffee and I use Starbucks with the reusable filter. Little messy for clean up but it's worth the cup of coffee. Problem with the water being drawn into heating unit and it will say "Not Ready" then just shut off. Only had this for a week and it's not working to well. My fix is I wait for it to start the draw of water and then hit the back-top area just behind the water container a time or two till it starts to draw the water. Not a real hard hit but not a soft one either on a down stroke. Works ever time so far. This must be one of the bad ones but sent Keurig and email of my problem and they are shipping out a new product with two free boxes of coffee to replace my defective one. Great customer service so will give them another try. I'd recommend this to a friend with the understanding of the problem with the water pump problems. Hope they get a good fix on this soon.
Pros: Stylish, Easy to use, Multiple Settings, Accommodates All Cup Sizes
Cons: Defective Pump

Love my Keurig

I love my system but feel it's pretty loud when brewing coffee. I encouraged my sister to purchase the platinum system and wish I would have also as it's a lot quieter with a larger water reservoir. Aside from noise, I'm very happy with it.
Pros: Multiple Settings, Stylish, Easy to use
Cons: Loud

Known Keurig Issues STILL Unaddressed

Awful! Awful! AWFUL! I'm so disappointed in my Keurig service STILL. I had a select model that had problems with just shutting off when it attempted to brew (they admitted this is a known problem for a whole series of serial numbers). After a couple bad customer service experiences they finally contacted me and offered a replacement for the platinum model. What they do not mention is that it is a Refurb and STILL NOT FIXED! I received my replacement one 2 weeks later and it brewed the first cup of water and then never brewed again. After calling we went through every possible solution the motor will not make any sound, it is definitely broken. So I am still coffee-less (After investing lots of money into kcups. This time they apologized and said they would send another refurb but this time I had to pay to send back a part of the machine in a padded envelope. There is no way that I should have to go out and find this padded envelope and mail at my expense for their problem. All I want is a unit that works and I'm on number 3. This is like the Toyota of brewers, never admits there's a problem, and even when they try to fix their faulty products there's still no guarantee it'll actually work. i
Cons: Replacements are refurbs, Breaks, Pay to send back parts
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Two days.....

Bought a Special Edition that lasted 3 days. Brought it back to the store where I was told that at least 2/3 of them were being brought back. Replaced it with a Platinum which lasted 2 days. I think I would give up totally but I've sunk over $100 into K-Cups and accessories so am still trying to decide what to do now. If the recent models are having pump issues they should have been pulled off the market :(

This machine is awesome for a delicious, quick cup of coffee anytime of the day. The reviewers who say the motor runs then it shuts off are just impatient. Mine has done that, but it is because the water reservoir has been removed and not placed exactly right. It seems to be a sensitive placement, but instead of crying fowl and throwing the machine in the landfill, simply move it around a bit until it seats properly. You can tell when it's right because it makes a different motor sound and you can hear the water move. My solution is to leave the reservoir in place and fill it from a glass or whatever instead of removing and replacing the reservoir. Yes, maybe it's a temporary design flaw, but there is an easy work around. I am by no means a genious, but was able to figure this one out without calling customer service. Not a big deal for all that the machine offers otherwise.
Pros: Easy to use, Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Durable, Convenient

The Platinum Brewing System is designed and UL approved for household use. Keurig recommends customers use Keurig brewers consistent with their intended use.

I would by this machine again

I have had my machine since December of 2008 and I use it several times a day, everyday. I have it set to go on at 5:30 am and then shut off in three hours. My daughter has had hers since January 2009 and she left hers on 24/7 and uses it every day. Hers has now stopped working and Keurig is sending her a replacement. She made a lot of hot cocoa in hers and may not have run a clear cup of water through hers after brewing cocoa like recommended. I also clean mine regularly with vinegar as recommended. I hope that her next one is just as reliable as the first one. I do suggest that you not leave it on 24/7. Why would you want to continue to heat the water all day long when it only takes a minute to heat up if you want a quick cup? I hope this helps for those who have read the negative reviews.

Not working... yet again

We have replaced the brewer twice since December 2009 for the same reason. Now the latest replacement that I have had for less than a week is also malfunctioning. It turns itself off after a few minutes and won't brew a cup of coffee. What a dissapointment. I thought the product I was purchasing was among the best of its type. I expected a much higher level of quality and reliability when paying such a premium. I guess I am going to have to return the product for a refund.

I bought my Platinum brewer in November 2009 and have had no problems. It is rather scary to read about all the others who have had problems. I use filtered water and make 2 to 3 cups a day. The only time I have removed the water reservoir was to replace the filter and washed the reservoir at that time. Other than that I don't touch anything else other than the menu settings. It is not complicated and I suspect some of the reviewers screw around with it too much... Maybe........
