The best coffee machine ever!

This machine is a coffee lover's dream. We spare no expense for coffee at our house. We are addicted to it, love it, and are snobs about our coffee, without apology. That being said, and having been using a couple of coffee presses with [...] coffee before our Keurig Platinum B70, we will never go back to the traditional way of making coffee. Not only does the Keurig make coffee comparable to our favorite PRESSED Pike's Place Coffee in strength, and taste, but it is so fast. (Not every coffee is terrific in the K-Cups and you have to experiment to see what you like, but I would say most are really good and some are terrific.) However, if you don't like the K-Cups, then buy your own special brand of beans from your favorite place to buy coffee beans, grind your own to your personal degree of pulverization (or go with what the book recommends for the Keurig) and fill the "My K-Cup Filter Basket" with your own coffee. (We use 1 level tablespoon + 1 level teaspoon in our filter basket of the Pike's Place coffee with our grind.)I love the teas and my husband occasionally likes some of the flavored coffees as well. Some brands and types may be weaker or stronger than you like. You can adjust the strength if the flavor is too weak by going down a coffee cup size to make your cup stronger, so strength is not an issue once you figure this out, with any of the K-Cups. My recommendation would be the Keurig with the most selection of cup sizes. We have the machine set to come on early AM and it goes off at 12:30 PM. I love getting up and having fresh, perfect coffee within seconds with the K-Cups or a minute or so later if I use the Personal K-Cup Filter Basket. The coffee is hot and perfect every time. I decided to taste test the coffee, teas and hot cocoa. Included with the machine's paperwork, there is a variety overview included in the packet of information that opens to one page with a listing of varieties of the K-Cups. Beside each flavor that we try, we rate the K-Cup by terrific, good, fair, and bad using the first letter of each of those words, with notations if the cup size should be made smaller on each particular variety, if needed. Then, when you go to the store to buy more K-Cups, you have a reference on what you liked and how much you liked it by taking the information with you. For example, we love Bigelow Earl Grey Tea, but do not care for the Twinings Earl Grey. There is a difference. In coffee, we hated the Coffee People's Donut Shop Coffee so we gave that a "B" for bad. My apologies if you happen to love that coffee. On the other hand we liked the Light Roast Green Mountain Coffee Breakfast Blend but found it weak. So, we went down a cup size and it made all the difference. Experiment with your machine and the coffee. The hot chocolate may have to go down a cup size to be the strength of cocoa you like, but it all works and works well. Just find your own personal preference. This iced tea is really good too and I make it in the "to go" cup from Keurig. Depending on the strength you like, you may have to add more water to the glass, or ice, or not, but the tea is great.I hope this review helps you decide whether this machine might be for you. We have had expensive coffee makers, with and without grinders on them, with insulated pots, with the espresso on the side, etc. etc. I just end up giving them away. For us, the best way to make coffee used to be to use a coffee press instead of all of the machines. It just took too long to get that coffee in the cup! Now the search and the wait is over. We have our Keurig. I will not be giving this one away! In light of that fact, and having waited to write this review because of testing different coffee, teas etc., I now feel I have enough information to contribute to the reviews. This machine must have been invented by a serious coffee drinker who may love a variety of drinks, and who wants them NOW! That fits our family to a tee and I will never go back to the other way of having coffee, tea, or hot chocolate. Also this is a fabulous looking machine and I really love it -- can you tell? You will not be sorry if you choose this machine. This really is a coffee lover's dream machine.

recieved as gift on christmas 2009. Started not filling the cups all the way and flooding my countertops. I called to get it replaced, they stated the platium was out of stock till April, I stated I would wait b/c I wanted the 11 oz feature that I paid more money for. Well today they sent me the cheeper model that only fills 10 oz. VERY dissappointed! I didn't even need a new coffee pot my 6 year old Mr. Coffee was doing a great job. The inital almost $200 plus all those K-cup purchases. Sad

wonderful convenience - great coffee every time - when it works. Sadly, it just does not work. The company has been great about replacing failed products - we're on our 4th B-70 now and it has begun to fail after one week, just as have all the others before it. There is something terribly wrong with how this thing is made - it tries to pump water, often fails, then shuts itself down.
Pros: Easy to use

This coffee maker is a great idea. Perfect cup every time...but only when it works. This is my 3rd Keurig brewer. I bought my first 2 years ago. Dependable service until it died. I bought a replacement last month from [...]. It died 6 days later...[...] replaced no problem. This one lasted 16 days. It just shuts off. It will make one cup then powers down. I have to unplug for 30 mins to get another cup. Keurig...do something with your product...PLEASE!
Pros: Multiple Settings, Stylish, Easy to use, Accommodates All Cup Sizes
Cons: Undependable, Does not hold up
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Keurig B70 1 down how many to go?

Well I just bought my Keurig 3 days ago and WAS so excited to use this machine. I brewed 7 wonderful cups of coffee through with no issues .......Until this morning, it was not on like the other days, I had to manually turn it on. The pump ran for about 2 minutes with the display saying "NOT READY" only to have the machine shut off with no coffee. So I started doing some research on this issue and was disappointed and shocked on how many consumers had this problem. Not only have consumers had this problem once, but after receiving a replacement machine from Keurig it happened again. On some post I've seen consumers that have gone though 4-5 machines. Well after getting off the phone with costumer Service they are shipping me a new machine #2. I asked the Rep. if Keurig has addressed this pump design flaw and his response was yes. I'm hoping this is true, but for now it's back to my old faithful Hamilton Beach Coffee Pot
Pros: Easy to use, Stylish
Cons: Fragile

I am on my third machine. They get a brain drain and forget to make coffee. Happens about 4 months after it is new. Keurig is great about replacing it but I would rather not have the problem at all.
Pros: Accommodates All Cup Sizes, Easy to use, Multiple Settings

What a piece of junk

I live with my brother and he had this machine for 2 years until it finally died. So being the nice guy that I am, I bought him a new one and myself one for when I move out. I bought it 2/10/2010. We are currently on our 4th machine and that just died this morning after being in use 26 days. Now I need to package it up and go get another one. What appears to happen is that the pump stops working and does not pump water into the reservoir to heat up so the heating element overheats and shuts down. We drink an average of 2 cups of coffee a day...that use should not cause this machine to struggle. Keurig...you need to do something with this...It is driving me freakin nuts.
